Despite the hardships he had growing up Alan Cumming radiates some kind of inner joy. People who have endured great hardship are often the most compassionate too.

Where can we view “Drive back home”? There’s just something about Alan Cumming… kindness, empathy, trustworthy, it’s what he conveys to me in any interviews I have seen. I know that I will enjoy the movie, the play, the tv show when he is part of the cast.

Couldn't agree with him more about how there is a caring sense in Scotland that is very hard to find in the US. Nice interview!

I saw it in Fredericton during their film festival and where the director is from and practically where it is set, and the two lead actors did the Maritime accents perfectly. Great movie.

My family was irreverent at funerals. Funerals always brought out our humor and a crazy sensitivity to the moment. I think it was our Czech heritage being people who were very emotional and historically bludgeoned.

As someone who is neither Scottish or Atlantic Canadian their accents do have complementary ways. I can see why it would have accessibility. I guess it depends on your ear.

Interesting, father is abusive so boy child wants to have" love" from a man?
@suzannemagee247314 күн бұрын
Most, if not all, people grow up and emulate some of their childhood stuff in their partners, whether or not they are in a same sex or opposite sex relationship. Your statement is childish and simplistic to the complexity of being human and how lives play out. Alan Cummings has been very transparent about his life. He has been in relationships with both men and women and happens to be in love with a man at this time. Being raised by an abusive person is going to obviously have an impact on anyone and everyone so let the man be happy and follow a path where someone is treating him with love and respect whoever that may be.
