CBCS vs. CGC - Apples to Apples Comparison

Looking at two copies of the same Fantastic Four #244, one from each grading company. Discussing the issues with each company.

Problem with the market is people made CGC the be all end for value all when CBCS does the exact same thing. I never used CGC think about it....lets grade it higher so we charge you more for the higher value. CBCS doesn't charge you for the grade.

Yeah, that's a HUGE scam, especially since they took away their maximum charge for BIG BOY books.

When you call CBCS service you get a person from Indian or person with that accent. Looking at the two books that you are showing. The CGC looks more like a 9.2 to me. The CBCS looks like a 9.6 to me. Now that just by eyeballing your pictures.

I haven't had to work with CBCS customer service. I HAVE had to work with CGC. I had might has well have been speaking a different language....

Cgc has a better aesthetic that’s why. They have a better looking font and authenticity badge. Cbcs looks like 97 windows. Smh I think cbcs is great they just look bad

As I mentioned, I've come around to it - I actually think the opposite, with CBCS label looking more modern as compared to CGC. The CGC holo does look better in bright light, but without it, it's just a grey/silver square.
