I was on the same boat, man. That first trailer killed any hype or interest I had. And when I heard it was a flop, I wasn't surprised. BUT THEN, all the clips started getting uploaded, people who watched the film talked about it, lots of people were hyping it up, and all those clips made me so invested, I had to see the actual movie. And bro, the marketing team absolutely failed this movie. This movie was INCREDIBLE. I genuinely believe this is one of the best transformers films to exist. It has everything, and it is also unifying so many elements across many different iterations. It's so damn GOOD. This movie deserves so much more love and I'm glad it's getting it now that word is coming out how amazing this movie actually is

'I want to kill him' Like, I can't even *blame* D-16 here. He literally just had it revealed that his entire life was a lie. That their "protector" was a liar, a traitor, a killer. That everything he's worked for and strived for is a lie. He wants revenge. And like. Revenge mission doesn't automatically = villain(hello Inigo Montoya). He just, took a different path an Optimus (who also was not wrong) and they couldn't see eye to eye on how to handle the situation. The story (of their friendship) is a tragedy. "I'm done saving you" That's the moment that D-16 died. That's the moment Orion Pax died. That was the moment Megatron and Optimus Prime were born. Re: Starscream, I mean he had to be SOMEONE and have some job before he was a Decepticon, since as I we see they didn't always exist. And he IS a capable fighter. So why not have him a former Elite Guard? And yeah, this movie is rated PG. It is wild as fuck what you can get away with when there's no actual blood or guts. They're robots and they don't bleed so it's fine to show them being ripped up and shredded apart and shit.

I went to go see this movie on the big screen, and my theatre was full of Transformers fans. I can guarantee that this is *THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE EVER!!!* Everyone in my theatre was on the edge of their seats in the 3rd Act and were clapping at the end of the movie, and Ive never seen people clap for a Transformers movie before! The trailers did this movie SOOO DIRTY! Everything from the stellar animation, music, fantastic fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, mainly because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. Brian Tyree Henry especially brought such a level of complex tragedy and emotional pain as D-16/Megatron that Ive never seen before when it comes to the character and honestly, he might be my new favourite take on Megatron. Usually Megatron has never been portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a product of a corrupt system before in most media outside of the TF comics. I loved how you can see his thought process through his eyes and how he was genuinely happy being a miner and believed in the system, but after learning about the truth about Sentinel, his entire worldview shatters, and his mental state slowly collapses more and more. The moment he is mocked and tortured by Sentinel, D-16 finally has had enough, and the moment he accidentally shoots Orion, we see I'm going through a complete emotional breakdown seeing his best friend almost dead but also perceiving it as a betrayal as D-16 has always had to cover Orion and save him for all his recklessness. However, he still chooses to take the bullet because he is trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but ultimately, it is too late, and now only Megatron exists. Chris Hemsworth was also surprisingly excellent as Optimus Prime, and it really shocked me how much range he has as an actor/voice actor as he sounded like a young Peter Cullen. I especially love his arc of growing to understand his responsibilities and that scene where Orion inspires the miners to fight back against Sentinel was so empowering because it really shows what kind of person Orion is as I love the detail of Orion kneeling down at the miners' level because, unlike Sentinel, he was one of them and saw all of them as friends and family and inspiring all of them like a good father figure, which is everything Optimus Prime should be, a noble, hopeful leader whos never afraid to be gentle or compassionate to others. The movie is also surprisingly dark, as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate. Im just disappointed with how poorly Paramount marketed this movie was as it truly deserved better promotion for such a great movie and yet the box office has many concerned that we might not even get a sequel, which I really hope this movie does get a trilogy of Transformers animated films because there is still so much potential to dive into the Civil War of Cybertron, the Quintessons, how Cybertron ultimately collapsed from the war and explore these characters on a deeper level.

Hemsworth did a fantastic job with a really difficult assignment, especially considering he’s a screen actor first, rather than primarily a voice actor. You could say the same thing about all the cast honestly, but OP is the hardest character to pull off convincingly, because Peter Cullen sets the standard so high.

I saw the film twice. It may not have Peter Cullen and Frank welker in it, but I really enjoy chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Herny in this. In case you didn't know, Megatronus prime is sometimes depicted as betrayer to the prime and goes by the name the fallen and is the firest decepticon, but in this movie he seems to be an actual hero and Sentinel prime is the betrayer. Can't wait for the sequel

The set up of starscream here makes his repeated attempts to usurp megatron make alot more sense. The central tenent of his beleife is that the strobg rule, megatrin beat him up so now hes in charge, but when he thinks he can beat him he will try. And when he fails he falls right back in line, having seen megatron prove himself again. Until the next time he feels strong.

D16 is so great. From the jump he’s such a passionate and emotional character who cares so much about the things he loves (Sentinel Prime, Megatronus, Justice, etc.) that it makes what happens with Orion feel so natural and like it was coming the whole time and that you SHOULDVE expected it. Brian Tyree Henry cooked as the VA, obviously. One of my favorite parts of this movie (along w Orion and Sentinel)

FROM PATRION BECAUSE I LOVE THIS MOVIE “I am very happy and an excitement of how much you enjoy the movie and like have everyone else stated Trailers massacre this film, not only do they make it look like a kids film, which also hurt the marketing, they also made others not go see it And ironically, the only reason why I watched it was because of one person that was just the backbone for this movie, which you already know But straight up, this was literally the best transformers movie I have seen in a minute because it was beautifully made While showing the compelling story of the origin of Optimus prime and Megatron, and how brothers turn to enemies, And again, I’m really love this movie and my favorite moment was 15:40 because it plays transformers prime music directly from the show And of course 37:26, because it completely surprised me how far they went and showed us how Megatron and Optimus prime were born And of course, the voice acting was phenomenal. When comes to Megatron and you can tell how hurt/angry he was. Chris Hemsworth was honestly a nice surprise, because yes, he is Thor, and sometimes get slack for it. He’s a genuinely good actor because I believed him every step in the way. This is for anyone who might not be aware. It's a fresh take on their origin story. Honestly, it's a fantastic blend of all the different origin tales, including the Beast Wars. As a fan of the original Transformers, I think they did an amazing job with this. It respects the lore and manages to tie together all the Transformers series, even those from other dimensions.

I saw this in 4DX that´s when they got the chairs moving and some light effects and water drops etc. It was so fun and intense especially when they were on the train and it crashed. Felt like I was gonna fall out of my seat. Everybody laughed after that intense experience. And yeah just everything went togheter so well. Loved this!
