SO many of us women in the 70's, 80's were sexually abused by brothers, cousins, uncles, neighbors... I don't know why those men ever thought it was okay to do those horrible things to a little girl... I speak from experience.

I can't help but wonder if there was influence from the 'free love' and 'anything goes movement of the 60's? I'm not condoning the behavior by any means or trying to explain it away. I too was a victim in those time frames you mentioned. So I was just thinking out loud about how we so easily allow certain culture changes and not expect there to be fallout. Bless you!

The sad truth is no one cares when a family member (elderly father & cousin) does this. Christ cares and in Him is the greatest hope of true healing. I agree with the wisdom of combining Therapy & Theology. Keep praying for survivors 🙏🏾.

That is quite a testimony. A child's view of God is usually formed by the dominant parent or authority in their household. That Beth Moore could still believe God was faithful during and after her father's abuse is amazing indeed.

This is exactly what happens when you say, YES! To Jesus. As you walk with Him, He changes your thoughts, your heart, and He teaches you how to heal to forgive the impossible. Without Jesus, nobody can do this. Never forget, Jesus loves these people, and He died for them too. All sin was poured on Jesus. He even knew God turned away from Him. God couldnt look at Him. Is what I believe. Jesus even called out to Him! My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me? Jesus believed He was forsaken by God. That was how Jesus felt, and believed. I dont, I believe God forsaken Jesus.I do believe this is what happened. God turned His back so He didnt have to watch. But Forsaken Jesus??? No Way!! Not even for a second. Jesus did exactly what The Father told Him to do. God never loved Jesus more, than in that moment. Yes, I do believe that.

I agree. We tend to protect the abuser and not the abused. And the biggest mistake I have made personally, was that forgiveness somehow washed away the sin and made it ok to go back endure more abuse. We can pray for them, but in my experience, I will never allow my abusers access to my physical or emotional self again .

Abusers don't need to be forgiven - God only forgives those that 1) ask for forgiveness, 2)feel Godly sorrow for the specific crime, 3) repent and never do it again. Abusers are the walking dead most of the time and are never sorry.

@@junetaylor8396 Jesus specifically said that we are to forgive in Matthew 6:14-15 - "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Too many people think forgiveness is reconciliation but those are COMPLETELY different things. In order for TRUE reconciliation to occur, repentance and recompence need to happen first. 1) The person needs to understand what they did wrong and reject it. Very few victimizers do this! 2) If there's anything that can be done to rectify the situation, the person in the wrong must do it. 3) If the person who was wronged, feels it's appropriate, there can be reconciliation but never before steps 1 & 2 are done!

Beth Moore nailed it. When I tried to open up to my youth minister when I was younger about what was happening to me at home he accused me of making it up to get attention. In the following weeks I had another youth staff member call me to meet with him. I went to the church and into his office for "counseling" and he told me he had a problem with masturbation and was there anything I could think of to help him. I knew then that no one was going to help or believe me and that now I was actually a target for people like that. I told him he needed to speak with another man about his "problem" and got out of there, but I couldn't get away from what was happening at home

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. God sees everything and even if noone believed you, God knows and He will repay. Sadly, there has been a long history of this in the church. These people are not saved and should not be seen as representative of the true body of Christ. They are predators and God will deal with them and hold them to account whether here or on judgement day if they have not repented. Scripture says "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God"! May He bring you peace in knowing that He is a "Just God" and that He knows and He cares about this! You are loved, you are valued and you are not forgotten. Forgive your abusers and let God Almighty deal with them. Hopefully they will repent before it's too late. God bless you.

Y'all need to save your judgement. Being abused and naming her abuser is entirely up to her and her walk with Jesus. Her notoriety will assist so many believers who have walked through this as well, in her bringing the topic up and being a survivor, an encourager. People behave in different ways after a lifetime of abuse. She has been led down this path to tell her story. He will turn all things to good. We believe this, and believe her sharing will help minister to others.

🥺🥺I believe that the sexual abuse of children in America is one of the key reasons we're being judged. In addition to the racial ugliness. Innocent blood has been shed and there's no repentance for it. The blood of babies and the mistreatment and murders of the enslaved. I pray that if it doesn't STOP, that God WILL come quickly and end this (for the sake of these poor children). It's hard to try to brave through abuse and put on a smiling face, when you're rerunning an assault in your head like a broken record. Then YOU the "victimized" must work through that trauma and forgive the monster. You have no idea how sexual abuse destroys a child's soul UNLESS you've gone through it. Justice, justice!!

I am also sad that she was abused, but why tell this story now? If her goal has always been to share God’s word openly and honestly to help others grow in knowledge and grace, why hide this important fact that shaped her into who she is now. In her early writings, I admired her..as time went on, she showed herself as worldly, loving monetary gain, worrying more about her appearance than her teachings. Flashing her designer handbags and clothes while encouraging her audience to “give” to her “ministry”. She is FAKE. She satisfies itching ears as she grows her bank account.

He's absent from our home yet still hypocritically served in another church.....just like the abusers he grew up with. No one said anything. But now after facing my own issues, I have to speak up.
@encouragingword1172
@encouragingword1172 Жыл бұрын
I truly hope you are successful in speaking up. How can our churches be filled with wickedness? Because we have only “a form of godliness but deny the power thereof!” Without bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit and operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit we are completely powerless against the enemy. Tks for sharing, it must be very painful to confront this openly!
@sjg5994

@encouragingword1172 It's a very careful walk. It isn't often nor as aggressive as people think it has to be. If God allows me to discern something, then I know I need to pray first before saying anything. I ask God for the opportunity, an open-door of sorts, to step in with my thoughts.....but I start with a question. Like asking a pastor or leader "Why do you think very little young adults stay in this church?" Or "Do you think it's been effective money is spent that way?" That's just the way I do it to get conversation going so at some point I can say what I see the Bible saying. For me, I try not to be too straightforward because that didn't help in my marriage.🤪

@victorabustamante7207 I tried. Many women who've been in this situation have tried but no one listens due to being a woman or perhaps the man is just favored, I don't know. If you have a limited scope of dealing with people in churches or different types of churches, you may not know this. I can't tell you how many leaders don't do anything or they paint the "truth-teller" as crazy. I don't know what's going on now wherever my husband is, but now wherever I am to see this happening, I speak up for others.

We are a nation of laws that protect our most innocent, our children, there are degrees of sexual misbehavior and abuse. It is so very rare to see recovery and restoration in these instances. It is horrible to go through, Yet many have Overcome & gone in to bring God glory & honor through His Mercy, Grace & Powerfully conversion. Did Beth bring God glory by reveling her abuser? I do believe Beth could have handled this a different way. As sad & tragic as it is to hear about Beth's abuse, she proclaimed to be victorious Christian a new creature in Christ, but Exposing the sin of her Father was something she could have let go to the grave. He's not here to defend himself. She's a multimillion-dollar so-called teacher and and preacher but plays the victim card, Now, After, she started to lose millions of dollars due to her ultra-liberal unbiblical compromises with the woke crowed, they are so proud & loud in their delusions and perversions, destroying so many children with their teachings & practices. They are off the rails when it comes to perverting our children with the trans, drag, gay movement. Grooming children now so openly!!! CBN is straddling the same fence & they will both fall into the pig pen with no recovery if they don't repent! Christ came to give Life & that more Abundantly, forgiving us & allowing us to forgive, Even our abusers! Not by any way excusing their sin! I wounder If Beth's father sought forgiveness biblicly ? Even if not, she could have ministered and kept the dignity of her extended family & their privacy. Confession is freeing, Exposing ones father's sins is shameful. There are times when it Must be done. We Can be free of abuse & abusers, we can walk in liberty, helping others and still have the ability to cover a sin in the full sense of the wisdom & love of Christ, according to His Word. Our court system and legal system was based on the judeo Christian law. We Were, a god-fearing country, but we have throwing it all away, and are suffering horrifically because of it! Families once would deal Very Harshly with these issues. But we have become civilized, tolerant & weak. We're trying to deal with so many gross sins in Un biblical ways, thinking we can be open, free & expose stuff without considering the full effect of it. We are instructed to settle these thing face to face with courage, if that doesn't happen we can take a wise trusted elder to confront our abusers, if that dose not conclude the matter, THEN, we go to our local fellowship & deal with it! If Pastors, elders and counselors would Consistently, follow the proper biblical pattern, we would cleanse the culture of this horrific abuse of children! Again God's perfect Word instructs us that a person freed from abuse, sin ,& bondage can live New, Above their past, can be healed, saved & grow past the worst sins, even forgiving & covering a multitude of sons, not excusing them. We can do both OVERCOME , AND, cover a multitude of sins. God sees it all! Even when the worst happens & leaders become abusers. The Goverment of men can never bring full healing alone. I pray for Beth for All who suffer such pain , heartache, loss, & shame. That they Overcome by the blood & atonment of Jesus Christ. Growing strong, living free of guilt & shame, being wise & kind full of mercy walking beyond retribution & revenge. Letting past sins DIE! in the Past! Going on to Helping others with dignity, pure love, being healed & strong trusting in the Lord to Do Justly. Without, having to destroy the lives of relatives that did not suffer from such things & Now will forever have to deal with shame of a past in loved ones sin. People like Beth come across as narcissistic, far too many of these are being exposed decades later. When instead, they can accomplish their desire to be "Transparent" by letting their abuser remain anonymous. Yet sharing the Power of being able to overcome such horrible things through JESUS CHRIST ALONE!

My abuser was my stepdad. I think the reason I survived as “well” as I did, (I am referring to not turning to drugs or alcohol) is because I was saved at 9 years old. The abuse began when I was about 8 until 12 or so. My mom found out. Did nothing. Forgot about it. She found out again. Did nothing. Forgot about it. Repeatedly. Then after she passed I found a nasty letter she had written 10 years prior about me and some others; mostly me, and accusing me and my stepdad of being in love. I was 61 when I found the letter. My stepdad was a career military man and a pillar of the community. He taught Sunday school and was the church clerk. I couldn’t bear to hear him teach because I knew how mean he was at home. And somehow, I did still love him as a dad. He was the only dad I ever really knew for 50 years. My bio dad was kinda in and out. I told people over the years about the abuse and they either didn’t care or didn’t know how to help. Years ago, there wasn’t help so readily available. I have a new respect for Beth. We never know what someone has been thru. I don’t agree with women preachers because that’s what the Bible says. But she has my respect.

@@justfelicia6671 of course women are equal but we have different roles. Women prophets ate fine but teaching men is not (and I'm a woman!). Memorize I Timothy 2:12. ALL scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit. There's a reason God says only men are to teach over men. Most men had bad, absent or so so father figures. They need godly male role models. Men grow from learning under a man. Men who grew up without fathers especially, they have a void and they've been taught by women their entire lives. They need to see a godly role model (often their first role model is their Pastor). Gifted women teach women, who need help more than ever in this crazy world. Let the men lead ladies!

Shame on the "Christian heresy hunters" who rejected Beth and attacked her and Joyce Meyer for getting together on some broadcasts. They didn't know what she was going through and never will. God bless her.

My Dear Beth, I am so sorry. It’s so difficult to believe that your Daddy did what he did. Yet, God saw it all and knew that He was going to be healing you to help others 😢A million blessings to you all who have been abused in one form or another. We must choose to forgive our perpetrators for our own sakes. May God’s loving healing hand be upon you all.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’m sorry she was abused, hope one day she will find healing! But the things she had spoke out about lately we’re not Christian words, so I find it hard to value anything she says anymore! I haven’t heard that she had repented of those very hateful words against a large group of Americans very publicly spoken!

I'm sorry for what your dad did to you, but blaming President Trump and saying nothing about Biden and all the things he has done is not right. You are helping to divide the Country and are definitely woke.

I agree with this for many pastors out today. They are very quiet now! They all should be crying out! But I guess not! It's all about power!

Thank you Beth for your transparency and honesty. I admire your faith in God and hope to have that some day, and the forgiveness that's so hard to come by.
