I have a 2004 cbr 1000rr with about 106,000km (65865mi) and I think it started to do a "tictictic" when idling with the engine warm, when cold it doesn't. So I'm thinking of refreshing it.

Hey man, i have a friend who have one cbr1000rr 2006, but the engine blew up, rod broke the engine case, i was wondering if it's a good ideia to rebuild the engine or replace to a "new one" in this level of damage(ps: i didn't see the bike itself, i just telling you what he told me), i'll be glad you you reply to your responde/opinion, greetings to brazil🇧🇷

Really depends on the total damage and how much you can find a "new" engine for. I know the cases aren't made anymore so you have to find used. You can bet on spending $1200 minimum buying all used parts, new head gasket, new crank and rod bolts. It wouldn't surprise me to spend $2000 or more for this repair. Parts I used: used crank $250, used rod $50, new head gasket $70, all new crank and rod bearings (I think about $180), new crank bolts and connecting rod bolts $200. That's $750 right there. But... taking it apart and seeing exactly what it needs is free...

Hello, i have a question. My cbr started leaking oil massively on head gasket. Since it has 92k kilometers on it i decided on a full rebuild and dissasembled the whole motor. How did you refinish the mating surfaces of the cylinder head honda says no machining only wetstone if i remember correct. Can i do it with finer wet sand paper on a flat glass ?

Hello, I have a question, can we reuse all engine bolts That is, those of the head, connecting rods, and those of the engine frame? If they have to be new, what are they.

Honda recommends you replace the crank and connecting rod bolts. I replaced with OEM.

Can you make a video on how to resolve 8 blinks on the MIL? Haynes manual says my CBR 1000RR has an issue with the TP Sensor but I don't know how to proceed.

what did you do about the crank being worn down? New crank and 1 new rod?\

Yes, new crank and 1 rod but you need to size all the bearings against the crank (numbers / letters on case, crank, and rods to spec the bearings (then verify oil clearances). I did all the bearings. I still have to get these videos up. It's just so much to cut through that I do smaller newer stuff more frequently. I work on them a little here and there.
