@@ridingweeb4801 I think the standard SV650 is a completely different category of bike. It's a beginner naked while the CBR650R is a true sports bike. When I decided to upgrade in 2017 from my 2015 R3 I looked at all these bikes ( the Honda at the time was the 650f) and all three were in the running. The final two were the Ninja 650 and the CBR. I ended up choosing the Ninja 650 due to the kind of riding I was going to do. For me, I think the Ninja 650 is the best bike if you are looking to upgrade from an R3. For the 2017 the weight was 429 for the abs, which make it 58 lbs heavier than the R3 which really wasn't much of a difference, the biggest difference was going from winding up the bike to the torque right at throttle, I love the low to mid range torque over high end because sometimes you just need to get moving right off. Also the under the bike exhaust I think gives it a more clean look, only draw back with the exhaust is you just can't add a slip on you have to due a full exhaust change. Another of the reasons I went for the Ninja 650 is the KAM system (Kawasaki Air Management system) where the heat of the engine is pushed away from the rider down and out the bottom and sides of the bike to make it nice on a very hot day when sitting in traffic, I hope they still have that on the 2020. I love that Kawasaki redesigned the look of the 650 for a more aerodynamics and led lighting. The dash upgrade is nice as well although I still love an analog tach. I am disappointed though that they took away the adjustment of the windscreen which is nice to change it depending on where/how you are riding but the new front cowl is nice. I could go on and on, but I leave it here, I am routing for the Ninja 650!

@@not2day646 Interesting, thanks for the response. The only other issue I have heard is that the build quality can sometimes be iffy. It was originally, if I remember correctly, made in Thailand then moved to India. I find it kind of hard to believe that no matter where it is made, that Honda would not take it to market without it being built perfectly. I would love to get one, but I think I will be getting a Yamaha R3 first, that just sounds like too much fun to miss. Plus, I like the thought of starting on a smaller engine for my first bike and then working my way up. At 42, my bones are more brittle and I need to be careful, somewhat anyway. :)

Love the videos, please keep them coming! The Ninja 650 is more touring focused while the CBR is more sport oriented. I would go for the CBR with the Ninja being my second choice, if money were not in the equation. However, I don't see how you can beat the fact that you can have a 650 that weighs significantly less than the CBR and save a couple of grand and not be thoroughly happy with the choice.
