And can I just tighten the front sprocket first without having chain on ?
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
No, you'll turn the engine over before you can put enough torque on the bolt. installing the chain connects it to the wheel, then locking the wheel keeps the engine from turning, allowing you to torque it.

Hey bredda 🙏🏽, what did the -1 front sprocket change feel like? Did you lose much top speed? If so how much. I have a zx6r and wanting more bottom end acceleration but don’t want to sacrifice top speed
@Master_Yoshi2 жыл бұрын
What's going on bro, I only got to try this change out at a track that has a short front straight, so I wouldn't have been able to hit top speed anyway. With that being said, acceleration only felt a little better, I want to also go up 2 in the rear. Fortunately, front sprockets are relatively cheap, should be around $40. Try it out and see how you like it!

So only thing you need to do to have "gp shift" is to change the side of the shift arm, right?

Do you always have to cycle gears like that after front sprocket Replacment ?
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
No not at all. I did because I flipped the shift linkage and wanted to make sure it was good.

@@Master_Yoshi thank you ! Just replaced front sprocket and left it on hand tight while I finish working on bike

So I bought the same sprocket set with the chain and they say to face the logos outwards

I'm not surprised. Do you still have the oem front sprocket?
@DanielClark-xy2qb Жыл бұрын
your rear axle nut should be on the right side of the bike not the left which means your axle is back wards.... look at a factory honda diagram or i can send ya one since i work for honda..
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
Good catch, but I purposely flipped it. Makes it a little easier to install since the brake caliper is on the right. It doesn't matter which way you install it.
@DanielClark-xy2qb Жыл бұрын
@@Master_Yoshi but it does matter which way you install it hence why it comes from the factory one way. installing it backwards runs the risk of the threads from the bolt to the axle spinning lose. the wheel spins one direction and the threads on that axle and bolt should match that same direction to prevent that. again i work for honda.
@Master_Yoshi Жыл бұрын
@Daniel Clark Ah I see, I never thought of that. But how is there a risk for that to happen, with the axle holder not allowing the axle to rotate?
@DanielClark-xy2qb Жыл бұрын
@@Master_Yoshi their is always a risk of the nut itself coming loose. people often forget that torque specs are their to ensure we dont over tighten and not there to ensure it never comes loose. also the holder isnt a full proof system either. our lives are in jeopardy as soon as we get on the machine. why make that risk greater by trying to out think the engineers who built the machine? ease of install vrs. proper saftey measures.... which one matters more?

@Daniel Clark Yeah, you're right! Thanks for educating me
