I believe they aired the 1978 TV movie Fire in the Sky with Richard Crenna, Elizabeth Ashley and Joanna Miles even though it was originally aired on NBC.. I remember staying up and watching it.

CBS Late Night was how I discovered this film. I don't know if I saw this original broadcast or a repeat, however. And of course I saw the MST3K version in the 1990s on Comedy Central. "We're downsizing, Carl."

I've never understood the concept of a movie billing someone as a "Guest Star" or "Special Guest Star." That seems decidedly like a designation only for television; a vanity/ego boosting gold star sticker for actors who can no longer snag movie roles.
