Hello, Catherine! Hope you had a very good day, and are well rested ! Thinking of you earlier! My garden is only that of a fairly regular sized house, but I realize that most don’t even have that today. Half of my gardening is on a large deck - 12x24 feet., but I also use the sides and front of my house. I am very spoiled, as my husband is also a woodworker (was a Locomotive Engineer before he retired) and has built many “alternative multi-level terracing growing boxes” for me to do our gardening in, because we have mostly clay for earth here. But I find it very easy to garden that way too ! I’m very appreciated of what I have in life. I know only too well that not all the hard work in the world always produces what one wishes for, sadly. But I always try to make the most of whatever I do have. I love watching the small bit of animal wildlife we do have here. The most startling thing that happens here is to wake up, usually in the early morning hours, and see 6 or 7 deer in your front yard. It doesn’t happen nearly as often as it used to, I’m sad to say (and usually only end of winter, early spring. We’ve had the odd large owl in our evergreen trees we planted. Now it’s mostly red squirrels (and gray and black), chipmunks, and our third-year-in-a-row of a wild rabbit that lives under our shed (luckily) and gives birth each year to one rabbit. She is really beautiful, mostly different browns with a bit odiferous white. The baby has the cutest white-cotton tail ! I don’t know for sure, but I think her baby is a “he”. Today was the first day the baby ( getting on for about one month, roughly) wasn’t with her. I have seen “him” out alone now. I put cut-up carrots out for it and water, and I’ve seen them eating it. 07-07-24 Robert A. Heinlein was born in 1907 on the 7th of July ! (died in July of 1988). Listening this evening from Southern Ontario, Canada, 43* N. I recognize Jack Grimes voice now after a number of stories with him. We have a current heat warning in effect here, but it has been a lovely day otherwise. Earlier, in the quiet late afternoon, I was sitting outside, having finished my watering of my garden, I sat reposed, and was just letting my thoughts wander, when I became entranced as I noticed the sun was beginning to slowly set. The sky was striated with pink, peach and white, and layered against two different blue-coloured swaths of sky. The only thing that stood out against the softly painted sky was a spindly white pine tree, a lone sentinel trying to stand proud, thusly silhouetted : the whole was a beautifully framed picture! I watched the sun for a while, and then the sun began its slow descent to the horizon. Then suddenly, the sky seemed to glow more brightly, intensely - lit as if a match to a flame - flaring, only briefly just before its final moment of setting. I noticed the sentinel tree had taken on a much darker hue, and was starkly outlined now, and I watched as the sun dipped quietly away with no further fanfare, and bid it’s “adieu”. A most beautiful sunset, indeed! A very goodnight to all who find their way here tonight, and wishing all a good night’s sleep and beautiful dreams to the end of your day! Thank you Sir Edge, for a very good story tonight - it peaked my interest psychologically! 🙏❤🫠

@@lynnrobinson8885 Lynn, I don't do so well in hot weather. Earlier, today I nearly passed out in the laundry room of my apartment building. My neighbors used smelling salts to revive me. I don't know how much more I can take of this hot weather in Vallejo, California.
