Looks like they're in talks to expand next year to the likes of Duke,Kansas,NC,etc. This is huge for SDSU for a myriad of reasons.

This is what it's going to be like going forward, and more aggressive (worse?), so better try to get in there anywhere you can. More exposure for the basketball program never hurts, either.

There is a difference between a company giving money to a group/ collective/college and saying use the money how ever you want and a company making a contract with an individual player and paying them. There needs to be a distinction between the two and different regulations for them.

This 3 years deal helps us with NIL for men’s bball until NCAA figures out what they need to do with NIL

NIL money is going to ruin amateur sports. Maybe the NCAA should enforce a "salary cap" for NIL money on any collective team.

I agree that there should be a cap on how much a collective or college can give a player. Separate private companies should be able to give as much money as they want to an individual player. A collective seems very similar to a booster club. Collectives should have different rules than individual companies who want to sponsor a player.

@@ryansuter4424 You lost me on the whole "separate private companies" thing. Why should they be able to give as much money as they want to an individual player? That's just another workaround the whole booster thing. A college or a booster can work a deal with a local company to buy/fund a player for their local college then. It's a messy situation. I wonder if you'd list Nike as a separate, private company. I'm interested in your gray areas because THOSE areas are the ones that will be exploited.

@@foe11191969 Let’s say Nike;which is a private company; wants to give a college player 1 million dollars to use that players name and likeness. That is a contract with one individual player and not the school. That is an individual player getting hired by a private company. To me that’s no different if a person who is studying art at the college gets 1 million dollars from Nike for a logo they drew. Now a player should not be able to get 1 million dollars from the college and/or the colleges booster club or collective. There should be a cap on how much money a college or a college’s booster club and/or collective can give an individual player.
