I'm not a man hater, but the reality is men have kept women down professionally in and out of WNBA. Now that there is more viewing eyes on WBB and now on the WNBA, cost of ads will go up which now goes into the league. It really frustrates me when I think about this. So thankful that women are coming into their own. TY for the conversation.

Loved this! Couple of things - get a good CPA. They are worth their weight in gold. Do not be a w2 if possible. I am an independent contractor and have my business with a s-corp. This set up saved me $50k a year in taxes. Secondly, im a huge fan of alternative assets. For me, that’s Rolex watches. You don’t lose money, you just transfer it into a timepiece, if you buy the right ones. Good luck, and thank you for this.

When we had to Detroit Shock, I used to bring my daughter to the games and put her in little camps so much fun. Hate it when he left.

@@cindy7068 Funny how you automatically assumed I was referring to Clark. Why is that? Is she the only one who has been named as needing to “save” the WNBA? Nope, she is not. My point is…the WNBA does not need saving. Does it need to expand and grow? Of course. Does it need to be saved by the young women coming out of college? Absolutely not. To suggest that is to disrespect all of the women who have laid the groundwork and have been doing this for years. If not for those women, these current college graduates would have no U.S women’s professional league in which to play. They would have to go overseas and grind it out just like their predecessors.

I understand the conversation. I also understand the market and revenue generation at the team level in the NBA determines what teams can pay and that the competition or Fear of Missing Out drives the massive salaries we see in the NBA. However, I think something that was missed in the conversation in the video is that a big difference talked about by "Talking Heads" is the School Support, Facilities, Health and Training, as well as a built-in Fan Base that most WNBA teams cannot or do not provide. Sue became world famous at UCONN. Then the Olympics. Then... Sue is the greatest ball handler of all time. Hell - if the media would have been paying attention, she would be the SVP of Cool Shit at Nike by now. Title 9 changed things at universities. Then the rivalries and boosters feed the machine (UCONN v TENN as an example). Supporters don't like loosing . The money comes to build programs. Now companies are sponsoring programs via NIL as a way to recruit and keep the best people. You 4 are great! Can't wait for 5/14. So excited. I have been watching Paige since she was in H.S. If health allows she will go Number 1 next April!.. BTW: Nika to Seattle - so appropriate! Be Well and do good things!

This is a good conversation, but we all have to be honest woman's pro basketball in the US doesn't generate enough revenue to stand on its own after 25 plus years. It's a cool game but without fans in the seats and eyes on TV it won't survive

If no one watches the WNBA (which is the case). No one watched women’s college basketball until Caitlin Clark hit the radar. There are at least 5 millions new viewers to the college game, because of Caitlin - and these new viewers will not continue to watch the WNBA when Caitlin enters the league. Also, I have always been a big fan of sue bird because she has personality, but the fact is, the fake hair, the fake eyelashes, piercings, and tattoos are a turn off and is more like watching a circus (WNBA). The grater percentage of American parents want to expose their kids to quality potential role models opposed to the what current WNBA has to offer
