8:07 Can you even fathom a car company creating a supercar and even hinting that it would be hard to drive nowadays? Everything has gotten simpler enabling the driver to be dumber: auto clutch on rev-matching, paddle shifts with dual auto clutches, etc. Over-simplification and the lack of driver intuition due to the computerization of vehicles ruins and makes every Jimmy Olsen a Superman. Kinda like all the big money folks that pay to scale Everest while eating by candlelight with chefs preparing their 5 star dinners on the way up.

Sinatra surely knew better than I do, but the Lambo clientele is traditionally very different from the Ferrari clientele as the Lamborghini's one is usually self-made people: well known surgeons, great entrepreneurs, artists... Ferrari clientele is usually born wealthy. The first ones there want to be seen, want to be recognised as someone who made it to the top,and, more importantly, they wanted to show themselves that they made it; the latter doesn't care about that and prefer something more subtle. This is according to Stanzani, the very first engineer Lamborghini hired kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6HGhHuMiddri6c the best interview, it's in italian with english subs, watch it
@LakeHowellDigitalVideo

Yeah, I'd much rather have a Lambo than a Ferrari. Ferarri's are the Ford Mustangs of exotic cars -- everyone rich buys them, they really aren't particularly unique. Lambo's just stand out more -- especially the classics like the Countach.

I've always loved Valentino's chill attitude. I'm from Hawaii, where Lamborghini's are even rarer than normal, but I had a neighbor in the early 90's who was a mechanical engineer and an Italian national. In his garage he had a Miura and a LP 400 Periscopa. I never met Valentino myself, by my neighbor casually mentioned that Valentino Balbone and his wife stayed at his house every time they visited Hawaii. My jaw dropped.

Pepperoni Unicorn actually the truth is even more unfathomable! Because Lamborghini didn't have a test track, he went to the local police, and asked the chief of police if he would kindly stop giving tickets to Balboni, because he was tired of paying the fine. The police chief said, well either Drive slower, or get a licence to drive fast (as a joke). Lamborghini had an idea then, and went to the government and pleaded his case, stating that Lamborghini was a world status symbol, and making Italy look good. And he needed somewhere to make the car drive more sporty, making more exports possible. Three weeks later Balboni obtained a special licence.

"If this sounds like a commercial"...well played. I watched this on loop as a kid off of a VHS recording my dad made probably in 1987 when this aired. 32 years of hustle later, I just bought a used Gallardo that needs a little work to eventually go and hoon on a track somewhere (and film of course). No "billionaire doors" or door-sill reversing, but a 'bull none the less. Cheers Morley.

No power anything, eyes on the road, both hands on the wheel. And no going to school before some dealer tech will unlock the speed limiter. I once caught a 8 mile 5 minute ( we caught a red light) ride in one courtesy of the local dealer himself. Forever grateful for that. 40 years ago.

Even though in 2019 it may not be considered a "fast" car. There is nothing better than the sound of a Lambo V12 and the looks of a Countach. It will never be outdone.

I once heard, that in the development and design of the Countach, Lamborghini couldn't afford to test the cars aerodynamically in a proper wind tunnel, so they glued fleece to the hood and outer parts to observe the air flow. Very smart
