It’s been years since I’ve seen the animated series, but watching these clips makes me believe that these episodes were well thought out. And if they (makers of the show) brought back characters from the original series, I would say the animated series is canon
@MundaneGray2 жыл бұрын
In many cases, they even brought back the original actors. Cyrano Jones, Harry Mudd, even Sarek -- all voiced by the same actors who played them in TOS.
@blazerocker17342 жыл бұрын
@@MundaneGray This was made before any of the movies and they were all still getting TV series pay at the time so they were still affordable.
@blazerocker17342 жыл бұрын
Actually, back in 1989, the animated series was canon. There's a book called 'Star Trek: Worlds of the Federation' that's essentially a guide to the planets visited and species encountered up to that time. I bought a copy around 1990 and found all the species and worlds that I'd missed out on because no TV station in my area ever aired the animated series and I never knew it existed.

It's too bad that William Campbell did not do voic over for Koloth for this episode like he did the live action role in The Trouble with Tribbles. I know a lot of Hardcore trekkies don't consider the Animated Series to be Canon, and while I would contend it is at worst deuterocanonical, obviously most of the main characters properly voiced-over for the Animated Series, but after all for the episode Blood Oath of Deep Space Nine obviously William Campbell John Colicos and Michael Ansara all appeared. As well as the episode of Voyager where Kang was depicted going up against Sulu on the Excelsior around the same time of the events of the Undiscovered Country...
