CBS3 Anchor Ukee Washington Emotionally Thanks Viewers For Their Support

Following the news that two CBS executives have been placed on leave after reports of "racist" and "sexist" comments, Washington addressed the CBS3 viewers. "Deep in my heart, I do believe we shall overcome. We must," Washington said.

Since 2017, I've been stationed at McGuire AFB, which, for those who don't know, is just less than an hour away from Philly. I joined the military so I could pay for college and work in broadcasting when I get out. I've watched Ukee Washington from the time I first watched CBS here in the area and I admire him very much. He has that nice deep, rich, smooth gregarious voice and a demeanor on air that gives you every reason to listen to him and trust him. He has a way of commanding your attention and reassuring you. Peter Dunn and David Friend are bigoted, venomous, blood-sucking louses who deserve to be fired from their jobs. We're all God's children. Why can't we treat each other with simple human decency? Thank you for all that you do, Ukee. And as a young black man, I thank you for being an inspiration.

@@pinehawk9600 There is a story in the Los Angeles Times where 2 now-former CBS executives, Peter Dunn & David Friend, were found to have created an extremely toxic racist, homophobic and sexist work environment within CBS's News Division (not just CBS3 but within ALL of the Owned and Operated stations across the country). CBS3, and especially Ukee, caught the brunt of these 2 "executives' inherent bias.

I don't care what their race or ethnicity may be: it's sickening, it's sad, it's hurtfull, and it's so narcissisitic to have a "need" to put others down (and he's really good at what he does, so he's also a threat to someone who is insecure). I certainly wish this man well. I hope he'll find a job somewhere where people appreciate his professionalism, kindness and warmth. When you are that good at what you do, there will always be backstabbers, gossippers, people trying to take you down, people trying to get you fired. This is true for anyone who is at the top of their field. Thank you so much, Kay. I appreciate that you took time out of your night to explain.

Ukee is an institution in the Philly area and someone for kids to aspire to be, and just a real professional. To use the words"jive" and say he " dances", what are these guys,Dunn and Friend, straight out of a 70's blaxploitation film? If anybody is fitting into a stereotype it's them. To intimate that it was about performance, when they fire a female Ethipian reporter because they reportedly said they didn't like her "face" is ludicrous.
