What’s wrong with being a stepping stone job? Had Fresno hired Skipper and he got the program going really well, I would bet he would’ve left too. Take it this way, if Fresno has to keep replacing HCs, that shows how quickly coaches can win at Fresno and kids see that as well. Entz probably won’t be here for a long time but enough time to leave and the next HC take over a really good situation.

Exactly. Look how many “stepping stone” coaches Boise has had. Hawkins, Peterson, Harsin. It certainly hasn’t hurt their success. If you create a winning formula in a program the coach is just another piece. A big piece but still just a piece.

Stepping stone argument is dumb, no offense. Unless youre in the NFL, you are in danger of your coach moving up. I live in Montana, i can tell you this as a USC fan, you got a dude.NDSU has over the years built a fierce reputation, for sold football. I compare Entz to Whittingham at Utah, if you dont know, thats high praise indeed. I was hoping he would be at SC when the current coach made his exit

I would bet that Matt tries to get Tyler Roehl (former NDSU OC and current Iowa State assistant coach) as the new OC for Fresno State. Tyler knows the ins and outs of the "trade, shift, motion" offense that Matt was talkong about. Tyler was the OC for Matt when Matt won his 2 nattys at NDSU. Would be a seamless fit.

Steve Comstock is really dumb. Literally 100% of ALL coaches use Mountain West jobs as a stepping stone lol. Even now that they are going tk be PAC 12, the new PAC 12 is a glorified Mountain West conference. So let's be real...quite Literally ZERO head football coaches in Fresno State history have used or will use Fresno State is the "end all, be all" coaching job. None

I think it depends on the coach really. DeBoer for instance obviously had much greater aspirations. However there are guys like Mark Few that have built up a program and hung around a really long time. So it definitely depends on the situation.

who cares what people say. Cant support the kids and coach who is coming in that would be a shame and counter productive. Getr behind the new staff kids and vision. why be a bump in the road. Be apart of this new time!!!
