Suspect in custody after Rockford, Illinois attack kills four

The brutal attack ripped through one neighborhood in a span of about 20 minutes. Five people were injured in addition to the four killed, and at least some of them were stabbed. CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.

This would never happen in Wyoming, someone would have stopped him with a firearm in minutes. 2/3 of residents surveyed own at least one gun but the murder rate is low. My observation of gun crime in Wyoming is that most murders are done by out-of-state people.

What was the actual sequence of events? No news outlet has explained it properly. My understanding so far: the suspect commits a "home invasion" but someone is home so he stabs her. She runs outside and a good Samaritan tries to help her and also gets stabbed in the process. The suspect gets in his vehicle and drives away, then sees a postman and decides to mow him down before stopping to get out and stab him to death. The suspect then gets back in his vehicle and drives other places, stopping occasionally to stab 3 or 4 more people along the way, before the police finally confront and arrest him. Is that it? All the news reports just repeat "it's a tragedy, 4 people were killed, the postman was a good man" - all true no doubt - but without explaining anything.
