Someone is starting up those fires. In south Australia we’ve had them in the past. We had a man a few years ago that started so many fires on the days that were supposed to be complete fire ban because of high temperatures and strong winds. If you actually WATCH the videos you can see in real time how the fires are starting. The fire is birthing itself on television by sparks in the WIND. It’s visibly doing this on camera. They even have been observing it in the news choppers doing a broadcast and directing the fire crews, and the LAPD have their own drones doing the same thing. Yesterday, the wind was so heavy at 100mph that the choppers couldn’t fly, so it was worse. My son watched the transformers blowing, setting sparks all over one city. Luckily fire department puts everything out there in another part of town. LA County is the most populated county in America.

Well the good news is once it burns, it's not going to Re-burn. What you can sort of say is some of these smaller fires during low wind periods are kind of "controlled" or "limited" burns. Every acre that burns is an acre that can't burn. Sort of a perverse logic, I know. But that is what could simply happen. The worst of the combustible materials just get burned and that is what needs to happen. I wonder why there is NOT more controlled burns in these areas? Maybe just too risky? Well it's pretty risky waiting for the whole area to go off? I just hope that the forest service just starts a program of very aggressive and small sector burns all through the year. How can that be done. Well take a water tanker rig out to a road, and also a Fire Team and just start a small area during an early morning cool time with not much wind and just light it off and as it burns, have the fire team walk along with it with shovels and tossing dirt on the burn to keep it at a low output. This area needs controlled burns like all year around, especially in the early Spring and late Spring before a lot or regrowth happens in the burned areas. That or just don't allow for development into canyon and hilly areas at all. Or very limited structures made with non-flammable materials.

There are miles apart. The palisades think of the convertible driving along beach in California those aerial shots are in palisades near Santa Monica pier. The other close to Pasedena from Hollywood that’s 20-45 min driving away. Runyon Canyon is near Griffith park or Hollywood Sign. It is very dry and could not get an ember from the other 2 fires. Either someone caused this or power lines from the wind. The wind was very strong as in when you drive it could push you in another lane.
