I worked for over 35 years in the transportation field. The air emissions tests were a top priority. However, the air quality situation as the future unfolds is uncertain today. Lung cancer comes to mind. How are the people upfront being protected from toxic smoke?

I put a lot of the blame on the insurance companies for not making landowners removing combustible brush and other fire hazards before giving them insurance. They only require 100 feet around a house. I have 5 acres that I clear of tall grasses and downed branches every spring. A lot of property owners just don't care.

fire marshalls use helicopters to view canyon-side homes brush fire clearance, and they will knock on home owners doors to give them a mandatory clearance order or they will be fined severely.
