I am mourning and feeling hurt about Aretha Franklin passing although I did not know her personally. I suppose I am hurt because I am going to miss her representation of Soulful music or her legacy or perhaps the idea of Good music to enjoy. Aretha music can bring back the cherished memories I have of my mother or make my soul peaceful and tranquil when the chaos of the world seems too much. Aretha I will miss you and I thank you for sharing your music, your legacy, your soul! Rest Easy Queen

Ree was a Class Act. Her parents separated when she was young and her mother did keep in touch with Ree and her siblings through telephone calls and letters and during the summer, Ree and her siblings Erma, Cecil and Carolyn would spend their summer with their mother and their brother Vaughn until her unexpected death from a heart attack. After their father was shot, Ree paid lots of money for his medical care until he died 5 years after he was shot. Ree loved her parents.

She was touched by the love the city of Detroit showed in dedicating a city park to the name of her father. Now there will be a park dedicated to her honor as well as well as a number of other city landmarks I'm sure. She was an integral part of the city of Detroit. Her entire family was. She was so real and affectionate. And a fathers daughter. She loved her father so much.
