I didn't think James would succeed in the US but he's opened the LL show out a lot (bigger budget than Craig's?) His CV here in the UK was so different! We Brits, drenched in American music/drama/humour since forever, always 'got' it, while Americans seemed more self-sufficient. Does the recent US success of Sherlock, Downton Abbey, etc. mean their tastes are getting more global?

Great to see him doing so well, and I think his success is at least partly because he's so genuine and humble about it all. He doesn't seem to have any ego, his comedy doesn't have any victims, he's just playful and incredibly nice. While I hope he comes back to do a lot more in the UK, I hope his career in the US continues to grow. I bet in ten years he will have written, produced and starred in at least one blockbuster Hollywood comedy.

Jimmy Fallon really changed the game by basing his show on making viral videos that show celebrities doing things you might see on a reality show and other bits that play to his strengths of impressions and music. James Cordon has taken that format and adapted it to fit his skill set which is music and acting. And since he has some serious chops in those areas, in addition to being a pleasant guy and a fair interviewer, he's successful.
