Having worked for a company that was one of Ticketmaster's largest customers for decades I can tell you we/they control everything. The venue, contracts, merchandise, plush, program books, concessions, etc. We owned the popcorn, cotton candy, hallway merch, etc. We cut strongarm deals everywhere worldwide! We had so much influence and power we could make the venues jump thru our hoops! We were/are so powerful that we have all of our promoters living in almost every venue city worldwide, peddling influence all along the way! This whole thing is lip service and will go nowhere. There are too many dollars of profit involved. If you don't play our way you get crushed in contracts. We tell you how you'll run and you can comply or else.

24:00 This is bull. BTS pre-sales is fan membership only. Bot detectors are there. Scalpers were allowed to purchase tickets ahead of the presale. SoFi Stadium members were also allowed an unprecedented amount of seats and that includes scalpers. Tickets were being sold at SoFi stadium if you believed their tweets days before fan pre-sales occurred. BTS was the most in-demand concert happening over a year after the cancellation of the 2020 concert Tour that was the largest sold concert with 32 locations worldwide.

Very few venues that can accommodate more than 1000 guests are not live nation controlled. It’s very difficult to put on a full tour without live nation, essentially impossible when you’re the size of Taylor swift

Ticketmaster works closely with artists. Artists set the price and they make a large percentage of their revenue off live events that they no longer make off music sales. There is a general lack of understanding of the technology and relationships behind this business.

24:00 Vulnerability in their software? Sure, that is possible. But have they done any improvements on their software; upgrade security and bot detection over the years? You need to see that proof on the technical level. The attacks they claim. Vulnerabilities are easily fixed and tested prior to events to cap possible holes in the system. They have to show they were actually doing that work. It has to be documented or they were just shaking hands with scalpers the way it looked like on twitter posts ahead of BTS PTD LA pre-sales and then after.

The issue is LiveNation owns a lot of venues and manages the artist. Which in turn is why they have such insane profits. When people are selling $500 tickets for 5k on ticket master they take 15% of that money. Plus the fees on the original purchase. Many of these bots that scoop up tickets turn around and sell them directly on ticketmaster which increases there profits. When they say much of the fees they charge stays with the venue doesnt mean anything because they own many of the venues if not partially own them. So when people are paying these ridiculous anount if money on tickets and they go to a venue in which the same company selling the tickets own, and are being charged $18 for a beer you can buy for $4 at a gas station and $30 for a frozen microwave pizza that costs $5 at your local grocery store its a issue. Its been a issue thats only gotten worse since theg merged and the only reason taylor swift is being brought up is because of how high profile and lucrative the tour was and it really exposed the extreme nature of how much its become a monopoly.
