Sincerely, my heart bleeds for all of you. I have been in many firestorms and California…. However, the nativity about the situation is mind-boggling. I left California 10 years ago, knowing what all the scientists were saying, and I followed their advice…. When the Earth temperature has gone up 3° that is nothing to ignore. We were all told this was coming…. you do not want to be breathing all those toxic chemicals where your homes stood… homeowners insurance in LA county which is the most natural disaster ridden county in America is going to be common possible to afford unless you’re a multi millionaire or billionaire…. There are 1 million beautiful areas of this country that are not in natural disaster zones with global warming going on…. as a senior citizen, I would tell you life is short go and find yourself and your family a safe place to live for your future… in history people I’ve had to leave their homes all over the world and throughout history. I’m sure it will be very sad for you, but you can start over somewhere else that is safe and you don’t have to live with stress. It is the same thing with the people who keep rebuilding in the hurricane zones, this makes no sense to my logical mind… and of course your the corrupt mismanagement of the state of California is everyone’s nightmare who lives there? I am so sorry you are going through this trauma…. You know Einstein’s definition of insanity is to keep repeating the same methods and the same poor results… You can be resilient you can be strong and take time to process your future with your family and what would actually in the long run. Bring you the best piece and enjoy as a family….. to think that California is the only place to live is terribly egocentric…. there are jobs with industries available all over this country. This country has so many beautiful places with good quality of life. Please explore these options. I wish you nothing but the best decisions for your life God bless.

Los Angeles City Hall recently forced Apartment owners to pay $500K for retrofitting units for future earthquakes. 10,000 units were soon removed from the Market because landlords were not allowed to pass on any of the update cost. Landlords also were restricted to 50 percent rent hikes of what inflation was. So now Los Angeles sits on 10k apartment units that are vacant and creating a housing shortage. It made no business sense to put $500K into a building that generates 25K a year, so landlords went out of business under the Ellis Act.

All the fire victims can be housed in trailers or prefabricated houses , clear their plots from debris and return there to rebuild their houses. Then ALL THE FIRETRUCKS MUST BE CAPABLE OF DRAWING SEA WATER TO CONTROL FUTURE FIRES WITH HIGH WINDS!
