To be fair, while JD is very intelligent, these two moderators definitely have IQs in the double digits. I don't doubt that their primary objective was to sabotage Vance, that's been the MO this entire election...but they weren't intelligent enough to even pull that off. They let Walz say, "I've become friends with school shooters", and never ONCE thought to add, "Did you mean friends with victims of school shooters?" ... anybody halfway intelligent/decent would've offered that to either candidate.

I see the pre-question speaking by the moderators more as contextualization, to sort of clarify for the debaters what the focus of their response should be, but also (maybe primarily) for the benefit of the viewers, many/at least some of whom are not super up to date with current issues/news. So the contextual preamble can help to understand why we should care what they have to say about a given issue. More cynical take: they do it to draw out the length of the debate 😂

Nope... the simple fact he would not condemn the idea of not certifying the election in 2020. Trump lost... it was a "yes" or "no" question. It went through the courts, the governors, and was proven there was no fraud. Vance is a good speaker and while he danced around a lot of the questions quite eloquently, made some good points, but that alone, should eliminate him. He will say whatever he has to in order to get power... I mean... we can't go from American Hitler to he is a "good guy" and it was the press' fault...

THIS is how a debate should be. Both were gentlemen. There was no unnecessary mudslinging. There was no childish trash talk. Both mostly let each other get their points in without stepping on eachother. They were civil, respectul and dignified to one another. Just two men who were arguing why their candidate was better for the country, and why they disagreed with one another policy wise. It was refreshing to see. Much respect to both. My hope that we can get back to this has been restored due to these two. Just wish THEY were our candidates.

@@ariadne538 I’m glad you asked. Allow me to defend that remark. Sorry for being so verbose, but this is important. I’ll give you a link below to a full interview on MSNBC with Walz. You can watch the entire interview if you like, because I want you to know I’m not trying to hide anything, but I will tie two points together here because there is much in between them that can make it seem that one has nothing to do with the other. And they are inextricable. This part is important because it ties in and is part of his “misinformation” remarks. About the 1:45 mark he complains of “misinformation” surrounding Covid, Jan 6th, etc. I’m just going to address Covid here, because this would be even longer otherwise. While he doesn’t say what that misinformation was in regard to Covid, we do know many, many people were banned or censored at multiple social media sites AT THE BEHEST OF GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES for suggesting that Covid was accidentally released from a Wuhan lab, they were banned or censored for suggesting the death counts were inaccurate, they were banned or censored for suggesting ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine may be helpful, there were many other reasons for getting banned or censored. By the time this interview aired, there was vindication for many of who were banned or censored and much of that information was correct. He doesn’t confirm or deny that vindication. (They also censored info about Hunter’s laptop) At about the 3:30min mark he’s asked about misinformation about voting. Like, someone telling people the wrong day for the election. He takes it a step further and states that is now a “massive” problem and calls it actual “intimidation” at the ballot box. Then at the 4:00min mark is when he says there is no free speech guarantee for misinformation or hate speech. He declines to say whether there should be punishment, as was asked. Everyone’s question is, “Who gets to determine what is ‘misinformation’ or ‘hate speech’?” Especially considering the massive banning and censorship that occurred during Covid being pushed by government. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2nRpGpsh6igjdU

No it‘s when they cut the mic when you know they‘ve overstepped their time and/or say falsehoods. Y‘all have freedom of speech, you can read and/or hear what you want to hear, stop feeling persecuted when you’re really not. This had nothing to do with “what we‘re not allowed to hear“

These moderators are obviously looking after their own agenda. When Vance starts to talk about something they don’t want talked about they cut him off. I’m so glad these main stream channels are DONE!

I feel like JD Vance was making eye contact and connecting with America. Tim Walz was looking at a camera and speaking. JD Vance is passionate about our country; Trump has already shown his passion for our country during his first 4 years as President. Our country needs change from this last 4 years. Vote Trump-Vance to save our country!

As a Minnesotan College student, I do not know a single person who has said their rent has gone down. I have no idea where this rent reduction is being recorded, however I can say the people here are not feeling it. I have been watching the renting market in Minneapolis for the last 3 years trying to find reasonable housing rates and all of it is attrociously priced, and prices have shot up astronomically in recent years.

@@toggle2565 First of all, please don't call me delusional. Most phycologists actually argue that anger is a factor from lying and nervousness. Secondly, if you ever did your research, you would know it has gone down tremendously. www.bls.gov/charts/consumer-price-index/consumer-price-index-by-category-line-chart.htm And the source is trustworthy. :) Third, it only rised because of the American Care Act that saved millions of lives.
