This happened to my brother and I. We were in a new black 2 door sportscar, dressed in suits because we were going to a club, we both love dressing very well, anyway the cop said we were speeding and we weren't. To make a long story short, we were stopped by a white cop, we are 2 Hispanic men, dressed VERY well, in a sports car and there were 5 POLICE CARS, plus, a K9 unit was sent. LMAO!! ALL the officers checked the car while we we sat on the curb nearby. They checked our persons, and found NOTHING. My brother and I NEVER used drugs, we aren't criminals with any criminal record whatsoever. Yet we were treated like drug lords perhaps, or rich gang members dressed too well. We later told a police office in our hometown what happened. His words were" wow, thats a damm shame, you could sue the city that did that". We never did.

@@paulv2394 That was your mistake. If we don't sue, they won't learn. However, it needs to go a step further: we need to be able to sue cops personally and have them pay for it, not the city. I was stopped by cops while just driving home from college. Two cops pulled their guns on me while the other two illegally searched my car. This was a long time ago, however, and there was no cell phone footage. Today, I'll tell anyone to record everything and sue.

Absolutely, and that goes not only for black men driving on the street or walking, but discrimination in corporate American with equal opportunities and pay. Yet, the Government signed an Anti-racist Asian bill? Two or 3 Asian hate crimes happened within the past year and Biden did something about it, but did nothing for black Americans even with the George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmad Aubrey and other Black men that were murdered. I guess because the Black Americans were murdered by Police, and Asians were best up and harassed (NOT murdered) by regular men on the street. Make it make sense Biden, Dems, and the GOP !! They're ALL on the same team....👀💡💯

In addition to what I said, Trump actually had the remainder of his Presidency to do something about the Police killings against black and brown people and signed certain bills into law or voiced on national TV that it is a crime for cops to kill innocent black men, but he would of loss white racist supporters and gained black supporters. He stayed ON CODE and stayed out of it as if it wasn't even happening. If Trump would of got into office speaking about equal opportunity for black and white Americans his white cult followers who feeds off his racism and became obsessed with him talking like a WS, NAZI, KKK member by talking about how they have bigger houses, bigger boat, more money than them (never said anyone who isn't white but that's what he meant), calling the SQUAD name,, Mazine Waters, and other black women names,, and black men....and had he NOT done those things, the white racist followers would of left him alone, and stopped supporting him..... Sad to know that the ONLY REASON the white community followed and obsessed with Teump because of his racism towards anyone non-white, and for no other reason. They felt he would make America "White" again, and he would save them from the browning of America by passing a racist agenda, and giving the GREEN LIGHT for cops to continue their murdering spree on black people, and behind the scenes at klan rallies probably offered bonuses to the ones who kill the most black men. Long story over, not only was the Jan 6, 2021 insurrection to stop the votes, but to ensure that their racist anti-black leader (#45), stayed in power to complete this racist mission & agenda. Truth! 👀💡🙄💯 (Please excuse my typos)

Biden is NO DIFFERENT then Trump, he is just as much as a WS as Trump he just doesn't say the things Trump boldly out loud he keeps it behind closed doors at the dinner table. He's a republican clothed as a Democrat. He's really playing for the Republicans at this very moment. Black Americans wanted Biden to have to black agenda while he was running against refused to put forth an agenda for black Americans which Ice Cube wanted to discuss with him, and he said he would discuss it AFTER he became President. He lied to get the black vote, a d has done nothing. One point I will give to Trump is, at least he made up a black agenda for black people even though it was a lie, but you had to give him a point for it, he wanted out vote so he made one up.... Would Trump had followed through on it? My opinion is NO.

Mayor Bloomberg of New York was caught on audio recording saying that cops need to stop every single young black male, throw them against the wall and see what shakes out. He's LITERALLY TELLING YOU what his strategy is. Yet you say it's not racism. This is no different than Trump being caught saying he likes to "grab them by the pussy", yet people still saying he doesn't assault women. How much more evidence do you need? How many more stats do you need to see to show that, removing all other variables like income and education, *race* is the reason why black people are targeted? Harvard came out with a story about a year ago and (once again) drew the same conclusion: removing all other variables, race is the reason why black people are disproportionately targeted and thrown in jail.

I remember one night I was driving with 3 of my friends in my dad's van with tinted windows coming back from the store. The Van suddenly overheated when we got close to where our old high school was so I pulled over in the lot next to the school. I had to pull over and pour antifreeze and water into the radiator but I had to wait for it to cool down. As we sat in the van talkin about some of the fun we had in school, four cops rolled up on us. Two had their guns drawn at me, they were yelling and wondering what we were doing at the school that time of night. I told them that my van overheated that's why the hood is open. They saw a white girl sitting in my front passenger seat and said, "What are you doing with her?" As the officer opened my door, my interior lights came on, they then saw two of my white friends sitting in the backseat. Those officers got the shock of their lives when my best friend says, "That's My Sister Sir, We all are alumni of this school." Then the officers said at the same time, "Oh..." At that point, they all realized they messed up. Four friends and a sister that all went to the same school, yet I had to be racially profiled while sitting there waiting for my engine to cool. We couldn't wait to tell our parents. This happened over twenty five years ago yet we still talk about it to this day.

I think its like 60% good cops 40% trash and that 60% will often look the other way when the 40% violates our rights. It isnt a racial issue. They are drunk on POWER. And ALL of us have to deal with that garbage. They violate our rights on a daily basis and they think they can get away with almost anything and they often do. Sometimes, the thought of having to be EXTRA sweet, smart or cunning to survive an interaction with a public servant just becomes too much! It is something very different to go through it once than what it does to a persons psyche to have it happen weekly from different cops anywhere you go… And that anger or hostility that builds in a Black person cannot be relegated to disrespect for all police or authority, it MUST be noted that constant harassment produces hurt, mental anguish and anger BUT NOT MALICE nor an excuse for cops to kill!

The cop that kilsl for no reason lacks the intelligence and ability to control his psyche(sp?). There's also no incentive for them NOT to brutalize or murder if they have no accountability and are financially awarded with vacation days, weeks months and the cop in Missouri got a whole year. So we MUST remember to be vigilant and try to stay safe.

This reminds me of my first negative experience with a white cop. I was I think 19 at the time. I was walking home from work when a cop car pulled up beside me. The first thing out of the cop's mouth was a complaint that I did acknowledge him sooner. I had headphones on but this was the early 2000s, headphones weren't small enough for him not to notice I couldn't hear him with them on. He starts in with the usual "Where you going?" shakedown questions. I found it odd because it wasn't like I was walking up and down a residential neighborhood. I was on a public sidewalk along a 6 Lane main road, a road he was blocking traffic to interrogate me from. Then he asked for ID, still not even bothering to tell me why the hassle. I gave him my reservist ID hoping the military ID will get him to back off. It does, he leaves shortly after returning my ID. What made this event stick out to me over 20 years later is that the entire time he had his hand on his service weapon. He probably thought I didn't see it, but I did. Maniac would have killed me if I had responded the wrong way.

Ok, story time! It's long, so just a fair warning Many years ago, my friend and I were driving home from college and a brown '77 Chevy Impala cuts us off in the middle of a busy road then comes along side of us. I look and it's four uniformed cops in this car. They proceed to drive in front of us, cutting us off. *TWO OF THE COPS GOT OUT, DREW THEIR WEAPONS AND POINTED THEM AT US!!! * The other two came to either side of my car (brand new Buick Regal) and proceeded to yank on the doors, with one screaming, "OPEN THE DOOR!!! OPEN THE DOOR!!!!". I was so nervous at this moment that I couldn't remember how to open the door! I get it open and one cop starts searching me (illegally), "Do you have any drugs?". I went from fear to anger. At this point in my life, I didn't even have a drink of alcohol. Why would you ask me that question? So I just looked at him and didn't answer. My friend the entire time said one sentence over and over and over: "SORRY OFFICER! SORRY OFFICER! SORRY OFFICER!". He saw that my demeanor changed and he backed off, but he left me with these parting words: "Be careful how you're driving next time; you could get shot!". What? Wait, was I driving recklessly? Why not give me a ticket for that? Was I speeding? Give me a ticket. Since when is reckless driving a reason for the response they gave me. And remember, THEY CUT US OFF! And yes, both myself and my friend are black. Cops are scum. Sorry, I can't stand them and do everything in my power to keep away from them.

Video, video, video.....Everytime always without fail video. If your car is new you can have the "Drive Safe" monitor installed by your insurance company that records all actions. Or buy one that does the same thing and sends info to your phone for documentation. Never, let the cops scream and demand. Upon approach they must identify themselves and badge number, immediately followed by what they pulled you over for. They cannot search your car without a warrant. The old tricks of, I smell something....I see something must be an articulated PC, or they get the dog....the dog will go around the car until the handler TELLs the dog to alert/lite. The cop touches your car, that glove may have dope on it and that will give him probable cause.

Well, here is my story. My girlfriend and I were driving home in Slidell Louisiana and we just got off the highway. Suddenly there were two police cars speeding up behind us and they pulled us over. They boxed us in and I remember the cop telling me on the loudspeaker to step out of the vehicle with my driver license, registration and insurance. He told me to put my hands behind my head. For those of you who don't know, what they did wax a felony stop. Guns were drawn. Meanwhile, two more police cars pulled up and they got out with their guns drawn, pointed at me and my girlfriend. The twist to this situation was that I was in law enforcement myself. When they realized this guns were holstered and now the cops wanted to apologize saying that they received a call of a stolen vehicle that just happen to be the same kind of car I was driving. I verified and there no reports of a stolen vehicle. The scary thing that I realize was that my badge saved me. And this was back in the days before smartphones and body cameras. I car sometimes because they could have easily blown us away and could have easily lied on me.

Even before watching this short video my beliefs on this problem have been the same. My message here is directed to every law enforcement officer in the nation. Do you not feel that enough is enough? I have been feeling that way for as far back as my memory can reach and beyond. Enough is enough for me stretches back in time to the first ever wrongful act done on the bases of skin color. Correcting this evil has to start in the hearts and minds of every officer, ( man or woman ) of the law in this great country of ours. The task is placed firmly on your shoulders, mostly because the problem (and the pain) is the cancer that’s eating away at the very lives of our people of color, as well as the people’s trust in the law enforcement community from coast to coast. I fully expect those who are the good oath keeping officers in every department from federal levels to the local levels of law enforcement to begin what should have never needed to be done from the start; weeding out every (oath breaking, civil rights violating, self serving, coward with a badge and gun) rotten bottom feeding cop on your department, from the highest ranking to the newest member running free on the streets taking lives, freedoms, and dashing dreams that will never come to pass for their victims. Yes, the healing starts with those of you who. Want the trust and support of the people you serve and protect, show everyone what justice and human life means to you. Restore the honor to your profession and jail the bad cops fire the abusers and fix the flaws in the training of the young men and women before they are on the streets of the communities you’re sworn to serve.

He eventually saw my proof of ownership and a military sticker on my windshield when he walked around the car, and changed his whole tone. I have never drove through SC since.

Maybe somebody can start a business called: Rent a White Friend. And pay them by the hour or, a flat fee. You can rent them when you get ready to sale your home, so you don’t get penalized because of red lining. When you get ready to check out apartments for rent, because they basically tell you that that you have one nice apt available, but when they see you, the landlord won’t say, I rented already, but I forgot to tell you. And, also when you go shopping, so you aren’t followed.

This is so horrible! Obviously the problem of racial profiling is very widespread. It absolutely turns my stomach to think this is happening to law abiding people minding their own business! For the record, I'm an old white woman, and I am deeply, deeply ashamed and disgusted that other white people, especially the police (!!!!) are treating black people like that! And the current political climate in this country is just making things worse as time goes on! People openly and shamelessly expressing their hate is absolutely chilling.

This story was so powerful. I can say that I have been fortunate in my life to have never been a victim of profiling. In fact, I have received grace from a white sheriff deputy in a small town in the middle of nowhere at 2am. I was in college trying to get home on a weekend. I was going about 95mph, just cruising. The cop pulled me over, he could see I was a college student with clothes in my back seat and he just gave me a regular ticket. Whewww! He could have thrown me under the jail, but GOD. So, I share that to say, I truly feel the pain of those you get profiled and that also makes me ever so grateful to have been on the opposite side of that when I was actually guilty of an infraction. Nonetheless, I travel with dashcams in both of my vehicles and already have my insurance & registration prepared in the visors just in case. Be Blessed! 🙏🏽

I was woke to the “driving while black” in college. I had a Professor who related a story similar to these which were backed up by MANY of the young men in that class. I realized then that I had led a very sheltered white life. Even though I never feared for my life at the hands of police, for women the threat can be different. The sexual harassment from cops is real as well. I can’t imagine the fear that goes through a black woman’s mind at times like these. Double the threat.

You are spot on! I too am white and only in 2020 did I start understanding the fear and anxiety that black people suffer, just in going through their daily lives. I have heard a lot of white people say this as well. You and I live life innocently, not expecting problems but for many people of color (maybe all, I can't say), everywhere they go, they wonder how white people will treat them BECAUSE so often white people take a "guilty unless proven innocent" ATTITUDE with them. Can't imagine what that is really like but it has to be horrible. "Liberty and justice for ALL" is not a truth, it is a goal [that we are far from achieving]. It is up to each of us to help correct this!

That's the problem with sheltered white people. You guys are too dumb to realize this stuff is made up If you grew up in a community where there was a lot of diversity you would see The truth. The stuff has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with culture. When you're taught from the day you're born that your skin color is a handicapped. Anything that goes wrong you're gonna blame on that. Logic gets thrown out the window. I've seen it a thousand times. These stories are usually debumped ninety nine percent of the time anyway.

I remember I was 15 me and my friend were out late at a local library and we were running to get to my house since he was spending the night and we wanted to get home before it was completely dark then the police pulled up, hopped out and stopped us with hands on their guns and needless to say we stopped real quick when we saw they were about to draw their weapons we put our hands up and let them search us, you know what they told us that it was “suspicious” that we were running mind you now we weren’t running in a weird place we were on a sidewalk next to a road that was in between subdivisions( we were in a predominantly white neighborhood) after questioning us like we were criminals they hopped in the car and left, the point is you can FEEL when someone looks and acts differently at you because your skin it’s like an aura of bad energy. Powerful stories and believe me I can relate. In 2005, I was driving in Point Loma, a community in San Diego, CA, when I was pulled over by police as I was trying to merge onto the freeway. Two white officer approached my vehicle. The first officer came to my driver side window and a second officer proceeded to the rear of my vehicle with a shotgun pointed at me. They asked me for ID and to lift up my t-shirt so they could check my waste for weapons. I complied and asked what was the problem and the officer stated that I fit the description of a robbery suspect who just committed armed robbery with a knife. By the grace of God they saw my security officer uniform with a badge hanging in the back of my car. Both officers began to realize that I was not the suspect so they apologized and continued their search for the real criminal. My only fear was that they will probably profile and pull over another unsuspecting, innocent black man.

@gbmuzic
@gbmuzic 2 жыл бұрын
A typical response from a man who has no clue about racial profiling nor the US Constitution. The answer to your, "What did they do wrong?" question is this. First of all the officers violated my 4th Amendment right by making an unreasonable stop of my vehicle with no evidence of a crime being committed or about to be committed. In addition to that they violated the search and seizure section of the 4th Amendment when they demanded my name and driver's license as well as asking me to lift up my shirt to check for weapons. I only complied with their requests as a way to de-escalate the encounter under a potential threat of arrest. Long story short, those officers were held accountable for violating my civil rights. As for your ignorant comment about racially profiling white people, that has nothing to do with me because I don't work in law enforcement therefore I can't profile anyone. My advice to you Chase is to familiarize yourself with the constitution before making ignorant and uneducated comments.
