Tsunami Warning Center should rethink how it issues its levels (eg, "Warning", "Advisory", "Watch"). It issued a blanket warning level across the entire SF Pennisula, which doesn't make sense given the Tsunami Hazard Area map from the California Department of Conservation. People were standing around for 25 minutes (ahead of the expected landfall of a possible tsunami) on their phones trying to figure out whether they should move to higher ground on not. Educating people is ahead of time is fine, but clearer messaging from the Tsunami Warning Center website (that could use that pre-prepared risk map) would likely save lives when a tsunami does occur.

Yes, the warning was not well done AT ALL. Hopefully they will learn from this. At the very least, how to actually evacuate people. So many places have no way to move large numbers of people out of these places. Where I live (Alameda) will be a disaster.
