Reopening: The National Museum of Women in the Arts

After a two-year, nearly $70 million renovation, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, in Washington, D.C., has reopened. The world's first museum devoted exclusively to art made by women, it houses about 6,000 works. Correspondent Rita Braver reports on its surprising history, and takes a tour of its newly-expanded galleries.

We need places like this just like we need women's colleges, and women's sports leagues, and other places that are focused on women, not men. If such places *don't* exist, what women do and create and think and feel will be completely forgotten, just as they were for millennia.

Never heard of National Museum of Women in the Arts. Where is the National Museum for Men in Arts? If you do not have one then who is the true sexist. If you have a special Museum for Women in Arts, then the main art museum should have no women stuff in it. This special privilege crap is what is destroying our society.
