Glad to see some DR-10 love. Keep it up. Seems like everyone went nuts on these then forgot about them sadly. Me included... I'll have to get some DR-10 videos going soon. Thanks Tony..

I think the tuning aspect is very appealing. Your definitely putting in the throttle time. It shows. You had some killer launches! Nice to watch a drag car evolve! Great vid Tony!👊

I need a drag racer in my fleet. I'm holding out for Losi or Traxxas. If not this will have to be it. This is looking good Tony👍👍

I'm shocked that Traxxas hasn't released one....but they really shoot for mainstream and huge sales. Not sure this fits the bill for them. They're fine letting us mod them to Drag cars

Get your rear shocks vertical to the chassis. I bought an extender, and they are now perpendicular to the ground. I also let the slipper out a bit. Just hit 66.9 on 2s, and uploaded the vid a couple hours ago. 8oz weight distributed front of chassis and inside front bumper. I still have to thicken diff fluid, but she flies.

Stock these are 18/87 gears nets 25-26mph also with a 2s 5200mah 80c LiPo and a 26t pinion 87t Spur nets 35mph. You’ll need to lengthen the mounting holes to allow the motor to come back further but other then that it’ll fit nice. I’ve been messing with my gearing a lot lately I’m at 39/69 now with a 13.5t setup for the 13.5t class getting 53mph

I sure hot racing or Exotek have a plate that will help, my Arrma 3s has the same problem , with a Hot Racing plate I'm running a 30 or 32 with stock spur for speed runs.

Go to 81/27 or 75/25 if you wanna maximize the stock electronics. I was able to run a 2.95@42mph on 2s on a real Track Mate timing system. Also recommend some rear tires the stocks are no bueno

Beautiful and powerful car but 35mph is why it feels so smooth wait until that thing gets some chunky gears and you go higher. Then the funnnn tuning comes in lol. I sold mine after i got it to 76mph because it took off into the air at random points. I thought it was a drag car not a rocket ship lol. But i didnt want to risk breaking stuff often. Goood video man

If there is a flat spot to mount a gyro, it probably would help keep it straight on the start. You can buy airplane gyro's for about 15 bucks on Amazon (I've got a few).
@CCxRC4 жыл бұрын
Gyros aren’t allowed in drag racing. This car has one that I had to turn off.
@SuperDrake794 жыл бұрын
4:00 about the slow in start. Your slipper was too loose. Mine hammers a wheelie off the start and hits about 43mph at the 132’ with those gears. 🤷🏻♂️ I dunno. It’s still fun but once you change gears and then electronics it’s a tuning game going forward.
@SuperDrake794 жыл бұрын
Oh and 81-25 is the claimed sweet spot. Any more and you get cogging
@CCxRC4 жыл бұрын
Is that with stock electronics? I had the slipper tightened down all the way. So maybe I need to see if I can adjust the punch or timing more. I haven’t messed with this car in months and so don’t remember where I left it. Just had 20 minutes while my kids were in music lessons, so I charged a battery and brought it to test. But you definitely got better speeds for that gearing. I may have to check the pinion again to make sure it was 24t. That was the last video I had with stock spur and I didn’t change it...so it should be right.
@SuperDrake794 жыл бұрын
CCxRC yeah stock electronics. The rule of thumb for the slipper is to leave the nuts outer edge flush with the screw. Then loosen until it slips too much and tighten up 1/8th a turn until it’s launching fast and true but not so much that it’s immediately hammering to one side.
@SuperDrake794 жыл бұрын
CCxRC I’ll get a video up soon on what works for mine and what I’ve done to it and get some speed passes.

I noticed that my dr10 got doggy off the line when I geared up as well. If you watch your footage you can hear/see the car even hesitate just before it starts moving. I went to a vxl system and it really woke up. Don't run the slipper to tight or the idler will strip. Ask me how I know🤣

@3props_does4 жыл бұрын
@@brucetheukuleleteacher9008 I'd try to calibrate the esc per the instructions first. If you have that straight then it could be down to gearing or the factory esc. My car got violent with the vxl esc😁

Agree or disagree -- one of the main problems with rc drag racing is that the cars are way too squirrely and cannot run in a straight line to save their lives. Plus, who cares about 35 MPH?? Yawn!!
@buickbob6663 жыл бұрын
If you cant tune the car to run straight then you cant tune. Half the battle is getting down track
