I’m glad I’m not the only one that appreciates good CD packaging. It’s amazing how great some box sets and albums are packaged and surprising how some expensive CDs have really bad packaging.

Hey Larry..I am a sucker for a good box set..I love that Procol Harum set and the DeJaVu set..I need to get both of those..I just ordered a Caravan nine disc set while I am in the U.S..Really looking forward to that…BOC set is awesome..the Arthur Brown set is one of my all time favourites..Larry, you have an awesome collection of box sets..can hardly wait for part two…I miss you🥰🥰🥰glen

In regards to the Small Faces package. A round cylinder package being referred to as a box set is kind of funny.

If there is one thing that I wish they would do more often is if they are going to put the discs in a mini LP slipcover they should always use soft plastic inner sleeves just like what LPs have. I think it would improve the presentation and would reduce the risk of scratching the CDs.

I was actually quite excited about which box sets you might bring up and unveil, and these aren't even my own box sets! Christmas came early, clearly 🌲 I definitely remember seeing a few of these too, and I gotta say every time you bring up the Blue Oyster Cult Columbia Albums Collection box set, a grin pops up on my face 😄 That is definitely a priority box set for me right now too; unfortunately Blue Oyster Cult is just one of those bands that barely sells a cd anywhere, usually with just one or two random live albums and 'Agents of Fortune' instead :( Of course I know where to order one, but even so...Such a shame, especially with influential bands like that. Don't get me started on Sparks and the like, either. By the way, 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' is an all-time movie classic, and what you've shared in this video are a whole lotta classics in music (with various degrees of popularity under each of course), so the title is very much correctly applied!😊 (I know what you meant, but yeah :P )

I like that Procol Harum box set! So many great box sets. I love my box sets. Sometimes those spindles are terrible. I have that ZZ box set. Love it. I need to get that BOC box set as well. And Steppenwolf’s You have a great collection my friend. Look forward to more of your collection 🙂

If you don’t already own it, track down the 1998 double cd set “The Original Bad Company Anthology” that was issued via Elektra, when sublabels of Atlantic were all seemingly dumped to EastWest/Elektra. While not full albums (although the first cd has damn near the entire first Bad Company album), it’s has a health selection from each album, alternate mixes of some songs, a couple of B Sides and- as it tragically has turned out to be- the last four songs the Original lineup recorded and released to close out the set.

Great selection - has given me a few ideas for future purchases - Cars - Electra years, ZZ top box set. I have a few other suggestions; Al Stewart - Year orifice the cat and time passages. Alan Parsons - several albums Ian Dury - Stiff years 🙏

Nice collection, thanks for showing us. I'd love to have ALL of those box sets. I do have the BTO box set and it's great but I wish they had the gatefolds and I looked it up and apparently that's the original UK LP cover for Head On but I've seen like three of four different album covers for it. I have most of the Cars, BOC, and ZZ Top albums but it's a mix of original CD releases and re-releases. Box sets are nice because all the albums are remastered and should be at the same volume so when you play the albums you don't have to, or at least shouldn't have to adjust the volume even if some albums were recorded louder than others.

Great part 1. Does part 3 end with a rooftop concert? I've scooped up a number of those discography boxsets. It's a fairly inexpensive way of getting most of an artist's recorded output.

Thanks for sharing. My one beef with some box sets (lookin at you Beatles ones) is housing the CDs in cardboard sleeves which are slotted into a thick book. To me, these discs can be easily damaged if for some reason, the sleeves come loose and get crushed by the book. So, I always remove the discs and sleeves and put them separately in a covered box. Can't take the risk.

I have the reissue LP for Ogdens (ogg-dens) and the original cover had those photos that folded out. The last time I saw Ian McLagan, shortly before he passed away, he signed his picture with the cat and started telling me stories about all the photos (it was his cat, BTW). He was quite a character and would talk your ear off. I really do miss ol' Mac. Weird about the Quadrophenia cover. The Who Deluxe Editions I have usually came with a slip cover that had the lettering on it instead of a sticker. I don't happen to have that version of Quadrophenia though.

great video Larry.I have large boxsets of Quadrophenia and Tommy.Keys to Ascention I have but then I also bought a 4 cd boxset of all the Keys to Ascention plus the Keystudio.I also have Live at Leeds by the Who I bought years ago it looks like an album has all the goodies the original album had but for the album it's painted on and a cd is there

My largest box sets are stored in my bedroom closet and the ones that don't fit in with my regular CDs are stored with my DVD/Blu Ray rack.

I saw a Seargent Peppers box set at Sunrise records with a nice 3D image of the album cover. It was a box set of cd's but I was hoping there was a vinyl version of it. Would you know? They didn't know so instead I ordered a picture disc of the album.

Yes it was issued on vinyl too but separately from the CD box set and without the 3D image.
