Well, as Connor just said, Garnt knew about Connor's feelings about the series and wanted to talk about it. So, with him knowing how Connor already felt about the show, which was "It was alright." He should've known how that would've gone, and he should've also checked to see if Joey had watched it or not, so he wouldn't be even more disappointed. So, you really shouldn't have felt sorry for Garnt because he knew what was going to happen and wanted to make the TT episode about it anyways.
@solymossyakos8526 Жыл бұрын
I feel bad for Garnt, because nothing the other two said made any sense. Their takes were either something you would just roll your eye around, like the naming convention thing. And when they are trying to critisize something about it, they bring up straight up incorrect facts, that actually make the show sound worse. While they are just desperately trying to avoid the topic, causs they dont care. So no, their takes can not be taken seriously at all, which is sad for Garnt, who would want to discuss it. But in garnt, it was a bad idea to even bring up, ad it is clearly seen they dint care, and probably not payed attention during the last 4 seasons
@Originul_ Жыл бұрын
@solymossyakos8526 I think it's perfectly valid of them to hate and be frustrated with the naming/titles of seasons 3 and beyond for making it overcomplicated, instead of just going with seasons 1-5/6 with no parts. It especially gets confusing in the last couple of seasons/parts, and it is even more confusing when it's been a while since you last were caught up. Connor is also known to be forgetful with everything. So, with him being naturally forgetful, the names getting unnecessarily complicated to keep up with, the hype keeps dying down quickly because each release is a small/short part that keeps people's interest for only a short while, and lastly, Connor hasn't rewatched Attack on Titan much or hasn't whatsoever, which makes remembering things throughout 10 years for forgetful person understandable fine. Joey's case has no real defense. It's just him wanting to be different and do things at his own pace even when his friends want him to watch it because they're excited to talk about it, but he ignores it anyways and doesn't care at all and just wants to be a contrarying, like with what happened with Arcane. I will say, in Joey's defense, this time Garnt abruptly wanted to talk about Attack on Titan because Connor told Garnt before the podcast that he wasn't that interested in AoT anymore, but what he should've done instead was to have everyone rewatch the entire series and finish it for an Episode of Trash Taste later on, so they all can actually discuss it and everything freshly in an episode instead of an abrupt Episode, where they can't discuss any spoilers/details about the show without hols back. TEDTalk down...

Not an attack on titan watch but personally I recommend rewatching old seasons when a new one comes out for pretty much EVERY anime with more than a year between seasons. I have a really good memory but even I forget a horde of details over that time, and if it's something really plot heavy then sometimes you kinda forget why you even originally cared about a show when you start a new season. More typical shows are at least written with this in mind - anime is 90% of the time written as manga, which works on a continuous release schedule, and then adapted into chunks based not on narrative but the time those chunks take up. So, it's no wonder that sometimes starting a new season of an anime seems like jumping into the deep end when you've forgotten how to swim

I think a lot of people were angry Joey didn't do his homework for the AoT episode, but Connor just adequately put that to rest by explaining that they only decided that the podcast episode would be about AoT two minutes before it began. Knowing that, we can excuse Joey and Connor, because they didn't have anytime to prepare. While it was all still hot in Garnt's mind. If ANYTHING, the REAL sin was that these guys did a spontaneous impromptu AoT episode... if they wanted to make a video called "The Biggest Anime Just Ended" with an AoT thumbnail, then the three should have finished the show and planned what they'd discuss ahead of time. So the issue isn't how the three were acting/discussing, it was their lack of planning and spontaneity. HOWEVER, I still enjoyed the latest TT episode a lot. Their whole spiel about naming conventions was hilarious. Honestly, the three can make up for this all by just making a follow-up video, with Connor and Joey having completed the series.

To me, the episode felt just horrible to watch/listen to. It did not feel like amy conversation was had, instead it felt like Garnt was hosting a highschool presentation, and his audience (Connor and Joey) either is bored to hell, or did not even know what Garnt is talking about. We could say that there was a conversation, but it was not cummunicative. In other words, there was nothing exchanged there at all. I felt particularly bad for Garnt. He was so excited and enthusiastic to talk about it, but unfortunately the other two do not feel the same way, contrary even. I've always thought that Connor is the guy who has good movie/gaming takes, but really horrible anime ones. He just feels like he won't even recognize anything anime if it's not Jojo or Baki. That was why I can respect his behaviour during the episode, because that's how he's always conducted hinself. Joey however... He was just straight annoying during the episode. @@Dan-Ky-Kang what? There is so many plot holes that haven't been explained yet like how falco could mastered his titan power and fly in the sky with ease or that weird worm looking thing which is basically a plot device who only got used in the last eps, heck the creation of titan serum from marley side are still confusing af. We only know that they created the serum somehow without the founding titan all this time lmao. Don't get me start on eren motivation which basically confirms he doesn't even know why he do the rumbling in the first place which is dumb af considering he could see the future.
@Dan-Ky-Kang Жыл бұрын
@lordtouchme77 plot device =/= plot hole The source of all life worm being the narrative device it is, doesn't mean it's a narrative error. *The worm served it's narrative purpose* Same with Falco and the serum, as it's already been set up and ran with. Falco can control his titan the same reason a lot of the others can, plus the fact he trasnformed once already. So does that mean he can fly? Why can't he fly? Did he have a missing eye? A missing limb? What makes him unable to fly? You're grasping at gripes/nitpicks (that might not exist) rather than actual narrative errors, as the writer assumes that if you're in it for this long already, in a world of giants appearing out of thin air (and people just knowing/having the instinct to bite their own hands to trasnform) - the author kinda expects you to have some suspension of belief. The serum is pretty self-explanatory. If the thing that can turn people into titans is physically apart of an Eldian (the spinal fluid), why can't they just, idk, physically extract it using scientific technology??? Like, have you not been paying attention? They don't need the founding titan for that. Heck, they don't even need serums, as they can just cannibalise the spinal fluid. Eren literally tells you why he started the rumbling. 1. He saw the book that Armin gave him, interpreted that empty-but-varied world as "freedom", and when he saw the actual world riddled with conflict, suffering and despair, he was disgusted and disappointed with it. Hence the rumbling. But that was his initial rationalisation/the reason he gave for why, not what actually ends up happening because we KNOW he doesn't kill everyone completely. 2. He was "an idiot who got his hands on power" Him being a total mess during his talk with Armin, is because he is conflicted, not because he lost sight of why he did the rumbling. He first rationalises that he did it all for paradis, then his friends, and then for getting rid of the titan power - he keeps going back and forth - but in the end, we know his true reasoning is a bit of everything as that was the outcome in the end - making sure his friends live a long life of peace as heroes by getting rid of the titan phenomenon. Do people not know what "plothole" means anymore? The information that Isayama gives you is a lot more explicit than people would like to believe. I don't know why you people have this expectation that the series should be perfect, when no show is, and then actively go looking for inconsistencies in the narrative when there is little to none. It's self-fulfilling, confimation bias, braindead behaviour. The problem isn't the writing, intrinsically. The problem people have with the ending is that it was kinda rushed. And it is.

Bro the amount of people that get butthurt over their discussions about AOT is crazy. At the end of the day, some people will not see the way you see the show and that is fine because we all have different interests but that what makes it so great because we could talk about our different views and we get to see from other people's perspective of the show. Getting genuinely angry over some of their takes will not make them change their minds in actuality it only pushes them away from it.
@24hr-Gaming Жыл бұрын
I think it's more the lack of preparation. I will probably watch the rest of AoT later because I also fell off the bandwagon for that series a long time ago, but I wouldn't not watch any of it and say it's bad. Connor did at least watch it, but I feel like sometimes he does controversial takes for views/discussion. But not watching something and then trashing on it is poor taste even for something you dislike. Joey says he reads manga now but the AoT manga has been done for a while. I also notice none of them have been talking about Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 even though that has been popping off too, so I can't help if that also happened because they dismissed it as bad without watching/reading it.

It's just that whole "curse of anitubers" thing all over again. It is funny that, for all the episodes of TT that they've done, some people still expect them to be the same anitubers that they were 3 or 5 years ago. I enjoy TT not bcz of topics about anime or manga, but for the personalities involved in the podcast. So it was quite funny when I watched that episode, and immediately see comments literally malding over AOT like it's the Holy Grail or something 😂

The ending changed and it was not a bad as it was in the manga. Manga was a very 7/10 for me. Anime ending is so much better. Also I feel the problem with attack on titan is that attack on titan peaked much much earlier than the ending. AOT is absolutely in the top 1% of anime. But idk the starting and middle part of the anime is absolutely fantastic but towards the end I feel the author just lost maybe inspiration or something I am not sure. I think it's sort of unfair to blame anyone for that TT episode. It was kind of unfair of Garnt to decide to dedicate half the episode to it. Especially when Connor and Joey clearly lost interest in the show. But goddamn did the episode live up to the podcast name. I actually had to skip about 40+ minutes because the disinterested tones of Connor and the Joey jumping on that bandwagon without even watching the show made me physically cringe.
