yeah, let's scare all the competition away! i don't net 2500 a week after all expenses at allll! it's Terrrrrible out here! 😂 the freight is gonna be there regardless... and running a business is hard work mentally, most will weed themselves out. we need more parking spots though!!!😂💯💯

@omexoticz9045 own authority, and im about to start making more because i bought my own reefer trailer. i wouldn't reccomend leasing on, unless its just too hard for some reason. leasing on you are just giving away 20-30% of your money to save yourself from having to do some paperwork. & maybe not having to set up insurance.. id say, just start ur own. and thats just me being real because i could say "sign onto mine" bla bla bla and try to make $ off of you, or try to say "money aint here man" to scare off competition. but i dont feel like i need to do that crap. there is plenty of money out here bro.. i seen some loads the other day for reefer goin from California to nj paying $8000. money is out here. its gonna take some to get started, but once you get started then its here for the taking.. pay all ur stuff off out right, dont be trying to make a truck payment, ins payment, trailer payments & this/that payments because then it starts to kinda eat up them profits... like.. if i had all those payments then that 2500 NET wouldnt exist for me some people pay dam near 1000 a week for all their crap. dont do that, because 1 bad week can put you under. try to find a truck you can afford to buy outright. save save save money. you dont want payments trust me! im now GROSSING $2000 a day, i haven't really figured out my net yet. but when i was netting 2500 i was grossing about 1000 a day for 6day so that was averageing 6000 a week gross & 2500 net. so now that im grossing double that, id imagine my net is going to be almost double. im only 2 days in though, and i had to take my trailer to the shop for maintenance.. and that reefer units expenses MAY end up lowering my net quite a bit, as i have no experience with it thus far. but fuel doesn't seem to be too bad & im getting all the maintenance done right now (i WONT be doing that again) $400 for a dam oil change, ill be doing all the maintenance myself moving forward.. $1200 for freon to be added.. and who knows what the ticket will be by the time they are done. i guess gotta spend more to make more. but im hoping to see atleast 4000 a week net. and that's 1 truck/ 1 trailer.. that to me is fkn rich compared to how i grew up.. so all these ppl saying there aint no money out here... really? HOW? they must be lease op (lease op really is a scam imo) but theres plenty of $ out here

A few Questions/points… coming from some one who’s about to get my CDL. 1. If it “no money in trucking” then why is he still driving his truck not only that but he seems to be investing more money into his truck. (Doesn’t make much sense if he’s not making any money.) 2. When people say it’s no money in it, what is considered “no money” $50k a year? 100k?…. I feel like someone who’s been in the game for 30+ years that was probably making upwards of 300-500k per year at some point (maybe more), would look at 100k or 200k as “no money”. But someone who’s never seen that type of money would probably think it is a lot. Again I’m not in the business yet and I’m actually only getting into it in order to build on to my current business that’s already making 400K a year. Trying to diversify my business portfolio and capabilities. It seems very hypothetical to make a broad statement like it’s “no money” in trucking but yet people like the gentleman in the video are still in the business and still investing into it and it’s so many ways that you can make GREAT money in trucking which is why I’m getting into it myself. I’m just trying to get a better understanding of the true purpose of videos like these.
@cdlshorty7410 ай бұрын
My man. He never said the words there’s no money in trucking. We were talking about the money that rookies are thinking that are going to make vs what they really are making out here. And money is what you make it. If you can live off 50k a year. Then that’s amazing but most people think when they come out here they are going to be rich fast and it’s not like that at all.
@Dewey_Boondye4205 ай бұрын
keen eye my friend 😉 we got alot of gatekeepers out here.. think about it like this, why would they want to make it sound good, and invite more competition out here.. you don't hear drug dealers talkin about how great it is out there because then when someone else starts selling on their block, now they are taking their money.. its mostly scare tactics.. and also like what you said, maybe they made more in the past or whatever.. i came from NOTHING. poor poor, the gutter.. so when im netting 130k im big rich to me.. cause i aint never had nothing before.. some of these folks out here really be talkin big mess about how theirs no money.. but alot of them are lease purchase drivers, and it gets confusing because the companies let these lease people call themselves "owners operators" because it sounds nice and draws them into their scam, at the end of the day the company owns those trucks & those people are paying over $600 a week to borrow that companies truck & THEY.. they really aint making no money because they give it all back to the company for the truck. the more payments you have, the less money you have.. if u want the truth.. pay everything off, have no expenses beyond fuel/maintenance/insurance/taxes & you will gross about 6-8k a week BUT you only net around 2500 of that after insurance/fuel/tax. 2500 a week is still 10k a month. comin from poverty 10k a month is alot of money to me. but im only using this to invest in other businesses. its alot of dirty people out here trying to get in your pockets.. i just dont look at other folks trying to do the same thing as enemies, alot of drivers do, because now you diggin in their pockets too (in their head) get 4-5 trucks and make 50-60k a month and tell me there aint no money 😂😂😂 cmmmon yall trippin. i make in 1 month what most of my friends & family back home make in a year. (but they also on welfare n shit lol) just dont spend it like crazy.. and make sure to PAY YOUR TAXES! set that aside off the rip.

As I see it, they're talking about inflation. This really impacts offloading the labor you generally don't want to do: engine rebuild/reman, new longer frame, and some guys don't want to replace or rebuild their transmission on their own time. It costs way more to have someone do these things for you, while freight still pays the same. Imagine working hard all year with no deliberate breaks, and you only pocket $70k for yourself after all is said and done.

Worse with the modern trucks, they aren't like old school where after you own them you get years of use. About the time you pay them off these days they are done, a straight up non stop money drain if you hold em. So there is no advantage, because the costs are endless or you just get lucky on some dice rolls.

OG was dropping gems however, you don’t decide rates the market does…you can deff make 6 figures in this industry still but you need to adjust and position your self to get that bag. If I can make 100k as a company driver I’d choose that any day of the week instead of being a owner operator.

@@cdlshorty74 brother, do your research..food service pays well, LTL companies pay well, and many private fleets pay well. Like my comment said, you are paid in direct proportion with what you have to offer this industry. If all you have is a regular CDL then your expected to get paid what your worth. Getting your endorsements can bump your salary significantly. It’s all about positioning your self to make that 100k
@MaderaExpressllc9 ай бұрын
Yes the market does make up the rate but if u pull there freight at a low price the rate will most likely never go up because they know they got someone to pull it at a low rate tbh I'm like OG I don't pull less then a certain price but I run local so my rate is firm can't keep letting people determine your rate in my opinion but safe travels my trucker brothers and sisters bless up #REDBREAD
@cpculture46419 ай бұрын
@@MaderaExpressllc so let me put it this way, let’s say i just became a owner operator and opened my LLC with no debt whatsoever and paid my truck and trailer cash…and let’s say you opened your LLC with debt and now have to run no less then 3$ a mile to sustain your company, and me on the other hand can run a load paying 2$ a mile…..the question is whose in the wrong here…the person who got into the game with significant amount of debt or the one who can run the load for a bit les and still maintain the lights running? My point is it’s all relative. Truckers don’t make prices and never will it’s all based on the current state of the economy. (COVID proved it) the only way a owner operator can still make decent money and not stress over it is not coming into this game with debt period. Yup, a company that needs driver cameras and does not deserve to hire drivers at all. A driver should be expected to have their own camera system, not this prison cell company camera garbage.

A reefer motor is only a 3 cylinder diesel that’s why it doesn’t burn. A lot of fuel His trailer is a spread axle. Trailer normally called a Texas spread. His truck is considered a large car. An 18 speed transmission actually started off as twin sticks, 4 speed, main box and a 4 speed, auxiliary box which was called a brownie transmission then they came out with the 10 Speed Rd., Ranger then a 13 Speed Rd. ranger then a air 4 x 4 to 18 speed so my young brother if you’re gonna talk about trucks you need to be able to go no the history of trucks. first truck I ever drove was a 1968 GMC crackerbox it had a 318 Detroit no power steering no air condition then I went to driving a 1978 Kenworth W900 with a 400 Cummings would they six and a four merit box then a 1980 Peterbilt 379 or the 3408 DI cat with a full house that’s a 13 speed double over with the four speed progressive brownie 2speed rear end which run 200 miles an hour with 80,000 pounds so stay in your lane and keep other peoples name out of your mouth if you don’t know 😎personally

CS, The bad things in our industry seem to go in cycles, from what I've seen over the last 38 years from when I got out of truck driving school in 1985 It's the bad stuff and never the good things that stick around too long. like people buying trucks without a CDL and then hiring an X-shoe salesperson to drive them...WTF. this was a thing in the mid-90s and they stopped after the 2000s started and now we go again. The brokers are another problem that needs to be fixed it continues to keep getting worse over time. keep doing what you are doing the industry needs this kind of advocacy and representation. Thanks, Keep on Trucking... DD😎🦾
