I hadnt done step or any other kind of gym work for about 30 years when I found Chris' step classes in November 23 following a knee replacement. I must have spent a week doing the same basic 30 minute step routine every other day until I started to get a feel for it again and get stronger.... with consistency, I now do the full range of Chris' step workouts as well as her weight training, cardio and mobility workouts. I restarted at rock bottom but recognised that Chris is an amazing, safe, qualified instructor which gave me confidence and inspiration. Take it one day at a time but dont give up because you will surprise yourself at how much you can achieve. And basically, step is amazing fun with Chris at the helm!

Thank you! I have been stepping since 1993 but I remember how intimidating it was to take a class as a newbie and to be screwing up in front of everyone. Starting something new is not easy! Give yourself some grace and be grateful that you can mess up and repeat in the privacy of your own home!! This is a perfect beginner workout. It might feel confusing until you learn what the steps look like. For example, once you know what a V-step is, you don't have to think about it when Chris cues that step - you just do it! A piece of advice if you're brand new to stepping - do this workout without the arms the first few times - just keep your hands on your hips and focus on the feet. And as you learn the steps it will get easier and easier. That always helped me and still does if I'm taking a class with advanced choreo moves. My hands go right on my hips LoL Keep going!!! xo Amy

This was great! I added a riser to make it more intense. I started doing step workouts before they became popular. A certain workout video series used a "step-up box," but I used phone books...that tells you how long ago it was! My husband bought me a Reebok step about 20 years ago, Since I have difficulty with the faster beats and complex choreography (my step doesn't go below 6 inches), the slower tempos are perfect. And as one of Chris's assistants, Audrey says, "there's always a modification," so no matter your ability, you can find workouts with Chris, modifying as you need. Working out is truly the best thing you can do for your health, IMO, and Chris is so well qualified and nice you can't miss by making it a habit to work out with her. And it's free.😊

Hi. I started doing step back in the 80’s when I went to a class. I found the co-ordination hard to begin with and was getting frustrated so left the arms out to begin with and concentrated on getting the moves - they came naturally in time. I used to go home and practice with a tea towel on the floor to replicate a step 😂 Over the years my instructor moved on to teaching other classes and step took a back seat so I was thrilled to find Chris’ classes. She’s a great teacher. Stick with it - you will get there and not look back, just keep progressing. I’m 54 and find step is just as good for challenging my brain as well as my body. Interspersed with strength training and mobility I’m getting all I need to keep my body healthy strong - hopefully. Everything is here is one place. Thank you Chris 🙏 Sarah 🇬🇧

Hey guys if you are a beginner this is the place to be. Chris is an excellent instructor and trust me you will get better in time. I started 30 years ago and I remember getting in the back of the class so no one would see me screw up but a few months later I was in the front because with repetition you will master the steps. I love step and I feel blessed that I found CDorner because she has workouts for everyone and they are free!! I cannot afford gym fees so I make sure that I click "Like" and leave a comment to help her out. Remember, no one can see you at home so don't quit, everyone screws up sometimes. Haven’t done step since college and decided I wanted to do it again. This was a great refresher of the basic steps. It was like riding a bike, everything came back immediately. Great class, looking forward to doing more step classes with Chris!
