That bit at the beginning was interesting. I always guessed Trent based the Halo system on Factory Records infamous system (FAC 1, FAC 2 .etc) but obviously he didn't. I learned something today. Thanks CD Punk!

The Fragile era is quite a mess. NIN didn't even release early takes of the album, my favorite song is Ripe (with Decay). I do like the song Ripe, but I was wondering what did Decay exactly sound like in the beginning without any distraction from Ripe. My prediction for The Fragile: Deviations 2 is going to be some very first take of every song in there, including Decay, but without Ripe as the beginning. Would it be cool if the time comes when NIN has a chance to have early takes of Decay and the final (album) version of Decay as the very last song in the tracklist? I think so. I always think about Decay as a perfect grand finale of The Fragile.

Have you heard of Rust Nails? If you haven’t heard them you should give it a listen. There are some very rare NIN mixes that I haven’t heard on anything else. Rusty Nails is a bootleg compilation of songs made into a nonstop megamix-each track segues into the next one. It was followed by Rusty Nails II and Rusty Nails III.
