Cebu to Bohol --- Boat Travel In The Philippines 🇵🇭

Join me on my journey from Cebu city to Panglao by ferry. We first grab some Filipino style street food of noodles, glutinous rice, bitter gourd & chicharon (pork scratchings) before heading to the pier.
The ticket cost 800 pesos, quite expensive considering it's only a 2 hour journey. Plus a bunch of hidden fees such as a boat terminal fee & some unheard of tourist baggage check in nonsense, the total cost for a simple journey really can add you in the Philippines.
Plus, with multiple ticket inspections, the first part of the trip was a little tedious.
However, the terminal was air-conditioned & clean, and offered massage for 100 pesos, so all was good.
The ferry left on time and was smooth for the entire journey. It even stopped raining for the arrival in Bohol.
I met 2 people who I shared a taxi with to Panglao, costing 200 pesos each. I checked in and explored a bit of the beach for sunset. The following morning I walk up another beach where unfortunately there was quite a bit of litter and pollution, but I guess this place is a stepping stone to more remote and smaller islands in the region, so not much time is spent here.

Ticket please, so that's how you avoid unlawful extortion tourist fees, show them a large bill. Nice chill vibes in Bohol 👍, especially with the pool. Last time you were at the beach and pool, we saw your mum and John joining you mate 🙏

@@DanvsFood My guess is: Terminal fee - saves the owners of the infrastructure from collecting from each boat operator. Baggage fee - maybe this check-in is down to increased terrorism and again, the extra infrastructure and people have to be paid for. Or it could be the common tourist-tax as you say. Whatever, these are not rich people so I never mind these things when they're not stupid prices.

@@joelruiz730 I actually pay more property taxes than you and I live in California. The taxes, parking, DMV and and exorbitant fees we all pay in the states should be outlawed. Those guys at the check in station was just trying to take advantage of Dan for baggage check in fees which is unheard of, it's not the amount, it's all about principals.

From what I have heard just pay the extra for business class its not much more and you can wheel you luggage on with you but normal class you need to check it in.
