It's a hard piece to play, what she meant by: "I can't read this" is that she can't read notes and play them at the same time on a first try without knowing the piece. Very impressive! Many imagine playing piano like, you sit and start playing the song on the sheets. But reading music notes isn't as easy as reading a book or text. Then playing a song you never heard or read of, including with two hands really tells her experience in playing piano.
@awesomestuff9715Ай бұрын
Honestly, if you practice reading music regularly, you should be able to sight read pretty easily, and it becomes pretty much second nature, and many musicians can do this (though some may not use this type of notation, so they wouldn't be able to sight read this) Personally I'm slightly more impressed at how she was able to sight read the page considering how dirty the page is, which reduces the contrast between the staff and notes, which usually is quite important to easily sight read so you can see what notes there are from a glance

This sheet is actually very manageable for a beginner. If you really want to learn how to play the piano but can’t afford a teacher, consider buying a small keyboard (3 or 4 octaves is fine for a beginner, though more is even better). Take advantage of online resources, such as KZbin videos, and start learning! Seriously, give it a try. Learn some basic music theory (like how to read notes), start with simple piano songs, and if you dedicate yourself (like a few hours per week, not all at once though!), you’ll likely be able to play this piece within a year.

I love that reasoning. "You have two hands, right? So you have two things you have to do" I think that applies to most instruments. Skip some basic ones like the triangle. A couple of trumpets maybe?
