@@SilverLiningDayDreamshi again! I was wondering if you could help me out. I’m almost done with this project in my rig & it’s coming along nicely but I was just curious, should I be concerned about accidentally nailing into a wire? Or are the 1 inch nails not that long to be concerned about that? How did you go about that? I didn’t think about this until today when I had to put some panels near my AC control panel which I decided to just glue to be safe. Btw, I’m using 1 inch nails on 1/4 inch panels.

I asked that same question in hindsight too. There were just two spots I was concerned with; one by the outlet and one by the light. Honestly it was a little bit of a crapshoot because I couldn’t find any resource to help me out with this. With our camper I think (but not sure) the wires are mostly running through the ceiling so I think I’m ok. Unfortunately I can’t say for your rig but odds are it’s ok. Plus I wonder if I would have nailed into a wire there would have been a spark or transfer of electricity because I was hooked up to shore power; just a thought 😊

We have not stained it or sealed it thus far. It still looks great. The cedar smell has decreased over time. Maybe we will give it a light sanding some day to bring the smell out more 😊

How much did it cost in lumber

A couple years ago when I installed the cedar the tongue and groove packages at Menards cost $16.88 a package with each package covering 1.72 square feet. Today on the Menards website they are $24.01 a package after the 11% rebate. Sorry that I don’t remember the total price paid or the price for the trim pieces.

Sorry for the late response 😊 It’s been a while now… but I believe we used paper as a template to help know where to cut and we cut with our table saw and a coping saw I believe. Take care 😊

Hi, I'm really ready to pull the plug on renting as a business. What do you think is more lucrative to start with, a trailer or a class c motorhome? I'm new to this, don't want to Waste money, and a bit scared. I don't have a truck to pull it to places as a convenience but I can pay someone to help. Any advice? I will rent on airbnb, outdoorsy, rvshare, Craigslist, and facebook

Hi Thanks for commenting. I also posted some of this response on another video of ours you had commented on earlier so this may be duplicate :) I think if one is interested in purchasing an RV to rent to try to make money at it they may want to consider starting with a smaller initial investment and experimenting to see how profitable it can become and how much work it is. May not be a bad idea to invest in something you would personally use as your first RV when “testing” the market. It can always grow from there. I can’t really answer how profitable it will be for you in your area because of so many different variables. I would suggest looking at the different types of RVs to find out what are more popular to rent in your area and looking at rates people in your area are charging and how booked their calendars are. For example smaller or mid sized class C RVs may be better than larger class A rvs for renting. Or maybe a smaller and lighter travel trailer that one can tow with a smaller truck or SUV. Newer RVs rent easier than older RVs. I would suggest, at least at first, using RVshare and or outdoorsy since they handle insurance. We subscribed. Thanks again for watching our video.

@@SilverLiningDayDreams thanks for answering. I think I'm gonna do the small trailer. Whats confusing is trying to decipher if someone is booked or if they have just marked off the calendar to not have renters on rvtrader since winter is coming

How do you know where to put the Brad nails? I’m doing this same thing this week, but I’m concerned about hitting wiring behind the walls with the nail gun

It’s been so Long ago now that I don’t remember for sure but I think I was able to use my stud finder which had a deep stud mode on it. I also removed a little bit of the wall to move some speaker wires which allowed me to see some of the studs as well I think. I think some Brad nails missed the stud too😂. I’ll link that video here if it interests you… kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWbbdIxjq6ispsksi=v176k93nZbiv2tCn
