Doug, we ALL have these projects that test us! It if or how we work through them that makes us and shows others who we are. Although to be honest me saying this at this moment in time is a bit odd. Considering I'm not the one to really talk since I am not dealing with a failure (obviously yours wasn't a failure) very well currently. But who knows maybe you showing your struggles is the kick in the butt (@$$) I need. Thank You for not giving up on it!! It "turned" (hehehe) out beautiful! Cedar is one of my favorite woods to work with. Although I don't have a lathe. So I'm not sure it would be if I did. As always Thank You Sir for all your time and efforts! They are truly appreciated 😊

Thank You Charles, I find it to be very dusty and brittle once you get it thinner, and it does tend to move a bit more than other woods, the resin was my failure not the wood, although it did seem to be a bit wet even after sitting like that for a couple of years

The bowl is GORGEOUS. OK, this may be a stupid question (and you've probably already tried this and I missed it or have forgotten), but have you considered letting the epoxy set up a little bit before pouring multiple colors so they're more clearly defined? I've seen other turners do that and the results are amazing. You had so many pretty colors in this bowl, I think (humble opinion) that seeing all of them in the finished bowl would have been stunning. Don't get me wrong, the water effect in the finished bowl was really beautiful.... not criticizing at all, just asking.

Thank You Lori, that's a touchy game to play with this much resin, you have to wait till it starts goin off to do that, it tend to get all goowie and clumpy and then you're screwed LOL

In a river table or something like that a method like that works great, and it does create AWESOME effects. But for this, you really want it to soak into any cracks and voids or punky areas and stabilize the blank, especially for turning. For this application, the less viscous, the better.
