casting Scrambleverse in a webcam game is one of the most deranged things I've seen a magic player do, I love it

As much as I love the cedh content, casual edh seems to lend itself to showcasing guest so much better
@imanujakku Жыл бұрын
For not doing casual content you guys do great casual content! I think that clear line you draw between what is casual and what is cedh balances your decks naturally which is something that isnt easy to do when people have mana crypts and rhystic studies in their casual decks.

Rename this game to how many boardwipes can cedh players cast in a game?
@TheRDRipley Жыл бұрын
No kidding. I actively avoid board wipes but I also play pretty casually. I swapped a board wipe for a Titanic Ultimatum in Atla Palani.
@SvviftDeath Жыл бұрын
I've always told my more casual friends that Boardwipes are the King of casual commander. Resetting the board in your favor doesn't always win you the game but it usually makes you not lose the game. That is why Casual games tend to go so much longer since people are playing to win but also not to lose where cEDH is trying to win and win fast. cEDH doesn't have time for boardwipes that don't win the game. ie Cyclonic Rift
@TheRDRipley Жыл бұрын
@@SvviftDeath agree completely. I've tried to really encourage my friends to focus more on cards that help them win the game and not just wipe the board. Living death, board wipes you can use to your favor (ones that care about enchanted creatures, ones with counters, etc), etc.
@SvviftDeath Жыл бұрын
@@TheRDRipley This is my style as well. I will play boardwipes but only if they actively give me an advantage. The ones that come to mind are Tragic Arrogance, Cyclonic Rift, Winds of Abandon (sometimes), Culling Ritual, and Fire Covenant to name a few. I have been prioritizing cards like Heroic Intervention more because there are so many boardwipes that being able to protect your board when everyone else loses theirs is the same as playing a one sided boardwipe yourself. This is best in decks that want to keep open mana for interaction but is also important when you notice your opponents not adding threats to the board. Usually a tell that a sweeper is coming and not over extending allows you to hold mana for protection.

I love the initiative in casual. It can really let one player run away with a game if they're the only one built around it, but anytime someone else can also take the initiative things get really spicy. These games are fun and I wouldn't mind seeing more casual games on occasion.

Henzie is my quintessential casual commander. It snubs the power creep almost all my builds see towards optimization due to also playing cedh. When I want a good fun honest game of magic where I kill all my friends by smacking them in the face with big durgens like Syr Richard Garfield intended, I play Henzie.

Only two minutes in and already casting one of my favorite cards. White Plume Adventurer has won me so many games. I don't need any other Dungeon delving cards because I play it for both effects. Untapping even a single creature a turn nets me so much value in my Roon Deck.

Rules question: do the spells exiled with Etali, Primal Conqueror all go on the stack as the ability resolves? If so, I think you can cast Tangled Florahedron first and then the wraths and end up with the florahedron at the end of it. Not 100% sure on this, would love an expert opinion.
