Vito Jr getting dragged away to that camp is a really sad scene. A nice illustration of how all their talk about family and taking care of each other is BS. Tony threw Vito Jr to the wolves because he gambled away the cash set aside to help him. And he definitely wasn't gonna go into his pockets to put it right.

The scenario of Vito Jr being awoken and whisked away is real. They basically tortured kids while collecting tuition from the families that were unaware of the abuse. It's a horrible experience. One "school" was particularly bad called Elan School located in Poland, Maine. They used attack-therapy which consists of screaming and using humiliation as treatment for bad behavior. The school had no heat or ac, no phones and no internet. The kids ranged in all ages. Some were there because they smoked weed, others were actually dangerous like pedophiles and extremely violent. The facilities were a run down summer camp built in the 70s with tarps across the windows to keep heat in during the brutal winters. It was open from 1970 until 2011.

@@ceerious I write about some Sopranos stuff elsewhere and that has come up before - it's like Bryan just disappeared completely. You'd think as an uncle (and a close brother), he'd have helped in any capacity. Just adds to the tragedy of it all.

Phil should have never clipped Vito…. The family would have been happy if Phil just let it go. And allowed Vito and the fam to move to AC. If this was real life. Vito would be alive with his family still in the mafia because he was an earner and making his boss rich. Money trumps everything

Vito Jr didn't take any shit from Tony Soprano or Phil Leotardo. He looked straight into the eyes of New Jersey and New York's toughest mobsters respectively and called them out on their bullshit without fear. HE is the strong, silent type.
