These 2 were dating and the only reason Phil wanted him dead so badly was because Vito got caught cheating on him My proof: -0:40 “starting to grow mushrooms on my ass” meaning “it’s been a while since we’ve hooked up” or even less specific if you don’t buy that, do you picture Phil responding the way he did, almost excited, for anybody else saying that? - 1:42 Vito goes to reach for his ass, or his pocket like his prison bitch (for 20 fuckin years) and then changes last second because he remembers where they are. It’s been repeatedly said that nothing in the show is ever by accident. - when he kills him he literally comes out of the closet (I mean cmon) and what is the first thing he does? Tapes his mouth shut so that Vito doesn’t say anything that would expose him. Then he was gripping the bed like he got some sort of sexual pleasure from it, hell it was probably one of the same motel rooms they used together. -The first thing anybody from the Sopranos crew says after learning Vito died is Chris saying “lovers quarrel maybe?” -When they retaliate, Phil is on a date with a woman and he says “there’s something I gotta get *straight* between us, which is an obvious sex joke but it’s very apparent he’s trying to reestablish his heterosexuality -soon after all this Phil starts having heart problems. His heart. It’s a metaphor. he broke his heart is what I’m sayin Phil was in prison for a long time, sure you get a pash for dat, but those feelings don’t just go away when you get out and a prick like him having a close relationship with Vito would be quite the coincidence even without all this

Phil and Vito were in a secret relationship together. When Phil found out about Vito blowing the construction guy, he killed Vito out of anger and jealousy. Phil was secretly gay, and Vito cheated on him. That's why Phil was mad and never let it go.
@KolchaksGhost4 жыл бұрын
Actually Phil didn’t know about that, he only knew about Vito being found at the gay bar

Supreme Leader Admiral Alexander Kolchak That's a good point. I think you're right, especially considering we can only go by what the show actually gave us to see. My only question is, do you think it's likely that Phil could have heard about Vito through the grapevine, and the show just never disclosed it to the viewer? Thanks for the thought provoking reply!
@KolchaksGhost4 жыл бұрын
PCarDriver87 well he told it to the higher ups in Tony’s family, who were ordered to keep it to themselves, so it’s unlikely, but possible.
