i loved the "how to sound like" videos, but i think right now Danny Sapko has been filling that void perfectly

I recently realised I was worrying a bit too much about my tone (just trying out and reading about some pedals, nothing crazy, feeling like liking more my tone = better ideas) instead of playing more and now I just don’t think about gear and I just play. And that has made me understand the gear I have even better so some times you don’t even need anything else.

2:58 Easy. You're born into the band 😂 I don't know about others but that was my point. Like "hey, you miss the bass. You need one" "then grab one and play with us". I shouldn't have said anything hahaha Also congrats mate, you deserve a lot of love.

I like the idea of a "Year without gear". We don't need more *stuff*, we need more *useful stuff*.
@ampthebassplayerАй бұрын
I definitely want to be more of a “de-influencer” if I can. Gear isn’t as important as what you do with it, and a good understanding of your equipment is powerful.

@@ampthebassplayer You actually helped me realize that my Zoom MS was amost all I needed, and that the forum posts recommending I get the 'real' versions of the effects weren't demonstrating any reasons why the multi-FX wasn't good enough (in most cases. I still like my swollen pickle vs the zoom's muff clone). Keep up the great work.

interesting that in the squier vs fender video you clearly mentioned you preferred the fender. but now in the video you say that actually you sold the fender and 'liked better the squier over time'! wonder if you can go deeper on that. personally after seeing the video the sound super similar, and I like the looks of the squier more (i'm a sucker for olympic white + tort)

It was a lot of factors. I thought it was a bit redundant to have two Jazz basses so I wanted to get rid of one of them. I had the CV Precision and I thought it was fun to have both from the same series. I also found that I preferred the look of the white as well.

Great playing can make cheap gear sound amazing, but only if the cheap gear works as intended. Sometimes an upgrade really makes sense when the cheap gear stops working correctly 😂
