I was just watching an older video of Julia and Jacques Pepin cooking, I always found them to be not only an amazing team but their friendship was like no other. I have so much admiration and respect for them both...they were cut from the same cloth, both masters in the kitchen but different ideas. I know after Julia passed, Jacque took it extremely hard..after all, they were not only chefs, they were Mes meilleurs ami ( best friends) The uniqueness about this pair was like no other. I still watch videos of them together up until Julia passed away. They worked together, respected one another and had a special bond. You taught us so much, not only from your kitchen, but your heart as well. RIP Julia💕

I have been watching episodes of "The French Chef" for the last few weeks. She was just such a classy lady...witty and making you feel comfortable. And the end of each episode, when she brings the food into the dining room, and she is just so proud, I really wish I was at a dinner party at her house.

The Smithsonian made one error in placing the items in the kitchen: the chopping block is rotated 90 degrees clockwise from how Julia had it in her kitchen. She had the knife holder on the right, between the block and the oven, not in front where it would get in the way while one was working.
@seikibrian86414 жыл бұрын
@Rose Ann My comment was made three years ago, and I have since discovered why the Smithsonian did that. The oven they have isn't the right size, and it sticks out from the cabinet on the left side, into the space where the chopping block sits. That made it impossible to turn the chopping block in the correct orientation, so they rotated it 90 degrees.
