Fun facts for both Ruby & Kieran, there will be another celebration this month. It's a celebration to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on that date in 1963. This event saw Malaya (Peninsular), North Borneo (which was renamed Sabah), Sarawak, and Singapore unite into a single state.

Unfortunately, some less educated Indonesians, to this date, still believe that the formation of Malaysia (Malaya + Sabah & Sarawak in the northern Borneo) was a neo-colonialist agenda initiated by USA & Great Britain. The 1st. Indon Pres. Sukarno was very mad when 2 northern Borneo regions joining Malaysia out of the internationally recognized referendum organized by the United Nations. The song after that is the epic patriotic song called as Tanggal 31 (the lyrics is solely depicting the date we celebrated our 1st Independence Day). Then you recited the Ikrar Rukun Negara (the Pledge of National Principles).

"Daulat tuanku" is how we say All hail "Insert monarch title here" because malaysia is a constitutional monarchy we have a king equivalent called "Yang di-pertuan agong" who are in charge of religious and cultural affairs but the administrative and actual leading of the nation falls on the prime minister

The costume is for the dancers(red/blue/yellow/ white) the style are still the same from last year indepedence day. But i like the last year dance more because it's still famous in my tiktok fyp.😊🎉

And if im correctly guess, before the independence day(the reherseal/rehearsel) People already come to pick the seat at the front so they get to see it more closely. They would stay from 7 or 8 PM and wait for tomorrow morning to see the show. I would say, next year i'm going to skip my school day just for this just to see the reherseal and next day watch it on TV.😊
