Good on you for following that career path. When I was in prison (regrettably), I would wake up at 6am and be so happy on the 3 days a week I had education. I done creative writing and art. There's a cool "20 years later" documentary on the very first episode you can watch on KZbin. also, isn't there a lot of controversy surrounding that show because it seems to have more of a negative effect on the kids? most of those kids probably have shitty parents growing up and then they go to a prison to get screamed at some more, seems like that would just continue to push most in the wrong direction

Larry, Thank you so much for uploading. My son is considered high risk because of some of his issues he was born with (ODD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder among others, none of which are his fault) and your videos are a godsend. He got on a "prison aint no thang" trip a while ago and I made him sit and watch an hour of your videos. I don't think it "scared him straight" or anything, but it does paint a raw, non glamourized view of what the inside is really like. He said to me afterwards that it was how casually you mentioned things like stabbings, beatdowns, treatment from the guards, scared him a bit. He's not a stupid kid. He picked up on that...."if he talks about stabbings and beatings like they were nothing, how many did he have to see before it became normal?" Thank you once again, Larry for painting the picture of prison life so accurately. I hope it makes my boy think twice before doing something that will land him there.

There needs to be more people like Larry especially ex cons, many of them get out of jail and they never recover, because of what happened to them on the inside. For Larry to not only get out and not fall through the cracks, and what he has done for prison reform. The power given to the wrong damn people in prisons is the worst thing you could do and to pour salt into the wound by not holding these people accountable and even defend them is disgraceful. The things that have happened to Larry that were done to him by prison staff they are unmentionable. No person in a right state of mind would ever think to do these things but for prisons to hire these fucking nut jobs and give them free reign over other HUMAN BEINGS with no consequences. That's why it's such a flawed system. It is setup for you to fail and fail again. It's all about money. The more inmates a prison has, the more money they make (whether from the state, or privately owned, etc) Prison's get paid by the amount of Inmates they have. This is why most prisoners turn into recidivists...and keep coming back, or end up doing life...Such a flawed system, Don't even get me started on drug sentencing....Larry is part of a very small % of people that get out and make their life worth it....

@@TimSlee1 I primarily looked at the subtle nuances from over the years about certain celebrities getting arrested and how different there process may have been. A pretty good example of this would be the six nine situation and how alot of people basically speculated he would get ganged up on inside, along with the reference to the icarly format where she has an FBI cap on and saying interesting. As if she were to be keeping tabs on these for later reference. Although everyone may not immediately get the reference that was being portrayed which is understandable.

Great advice to anyone tempted to get into a life of crime. I have an in-law who just couldn't get beyond his traumatic childhood. He got into dealing cocaine and weed in high school and then got hard core addicted to crack to medicate his emotional trauma. He ended up going in and out of jail over a 25 year period but it all eventually caught with him as that life always does. He ended up in the state pen and now he's in a prison mental hospital. It's tragic.

I'm REALLY interested in the interviews with the ex-guard/inmate. It's so cool that he (and many others) wanted to come help you out and come on the show.
