@@mitsulegend all Puerto Ricans have African blood. That's what makes them Puerto Rican. They don't talk about the African blood only the Spanish and Indian blood, but they will Sasha dance to the African drums. Slavemaster would be the Spaniards that brought the African slaves to the Island of Puerto Rico that mixed with Africans, Spanish, and Tainos (who are a different type of Indian). They are supposed to be mixed with different types of races. However, the common denominator is African. Not a lot of people know that African Americans are of mixed race as well with European, African, Spanish, Middle Eastern, and Indian. I could go on but I'm done I've said enough.

@@Angel-rz3sd The Taínos were practically all decimated by the Spaniards. So there’s very little Taino blood in puertoricans. As far as Africans and Spaniards, there are some mixtures to different degrees. However is very difficult to see nowadays a pure black in Puerto Rico is always a mixture like Shabba Doo for example. But you also see white blond puertoricans with green or blue eyes, and other shades in between both extremes..

I notice he sat the whole time in that same position, wouldn't have been surprised if all those years of landing on the knees/butt and putting strain on the hips broke down the joints. Dude was part of an entertaining time in music and culture, before funk/early rap devolved into mostly very violent and misogynistic late 80s and 90s rap with dudes getting murdered. Really sad what it became. I don't even know what to say about the last 15 or so years of boring repetitive trap beats. It jumped the shark big time. Black music will never ever touch the greatness of funk and soul again.

I was really impressed to hear him embrace his blackness, because not a lot of Hispanics don’t. We can accept who he is, but they ether seem to want it all, or nothing, and they will shun any other Latino who recognizes their African ancestry. N.O.R.E speaks sometimes about how Big Pun used to never acknowledge the fact that N.O.R.E was black. He didn’t diss it, but he says he used to behave as if he had no black in him, which is weird because Latino isn’t a race. He also used to try to get him to eat a pork chop, by getting him in a headlock and waving the aroma in his face, but that’s another story....and a hilarious one.

@CULTURE VULTURE You’re absolutely right, and I agree wholeheartedly with you. It’s just nice every once in a while to hear one that you don’t expect to have a black recognizing bone in his/her body say what we all know to be true. You are right, we’re too great to give a fuck about them though. Especially since they like to join white supremacy whenever convenient for them!

Shabba Doo is truly an amazing person and his quote "you may be able to do all those things better than me but I FEEL more than you" is relevant then as well as it is now. I watched Breakin' The Movie in 1984 more than a dozen times in the theater as i felt, it had a meaningful message and the best lockin' and poppin' movie and still is, that would become a classic one day.
