Why Did Senator Joel Villanueva Question God After Losing His Mom and Sister | Toni Talks

Inside the Jesus Is Lord church, I sat down and talked to Sen. Joel Villanueva. Here he shares about his life growing up as a pastor's kid, how his love for basketball led him to finding his true calling and what he realized after losing both his mother and sister in just a year.

May mga nabasa akong comment dati na ano daw ba ang ginagawa nitong tao nato kasi tahimik lang siya at hindi maingay sa mundo ng pulitika. Nung nagkaroon ng problema yung kapatid ko sa Saudi, halos lahat ng senator in-email-an ko, may dalawang office ng senator na nagreply na titingnan nila yung isyung inilalapit ko then after nun wala na akong narinig. Tanging office lang ni Senator Joel yung nag-abalang magbigay ng referral letter na may tatak ng Senate of the Philippines addressing the Office of the Ambassador in Saudi and Office of the Migrant Workers saying na tulungan yung kapatid ko. Sir Joel at sa chief of staff nyo po, sobrang thank you po! Sa awa at biyaya ng Diyos nakauwi ng maayos yung kapatid ko. Salamat po for being willing to be used by God. I pray na nawa po patuloy kayong ingatan at protektahan ng Diyos at itindig not only as a man of honor and integrity but as a faithful man of God. I can't hold my tears while watching this video, the moment he talked about what happened to his mom and sister because I also lost my mom last June 11 then the following month our company announced that I am one of those employees na matatanggal. I felt devastated at that time but I left no choice but to accept their decision. I got doubled killed last year but Praise God I'm still alive and kicking while dealing with those pain.

So sad. I remember in 1992- July 7, I lost my dad- Cancer of the throat. End of July 31/92. Got laid off. My bday is July 22. Two years immigrant in US. That time. I dont know the reason why??? I remembered that day when I was a guest singer on the new year event in Bocaue, former Mayor Joni Villanueva introduced me to her brother Senator Joel Villanueva, then she said, "Siya nga pala yung pambato nang Batia Bocaue pagdating sa kantahan" I was very blessed and felt so honored that moment, considering that it was exactly my birthday (January 1) Then we had picture together, me, Mayor Joni and Senator Joel, taken by their photographer, I know that they are good and kind persons, napatunayan ko yon, so when Mayor Joni died, it hurts like hell 😭😔

But what really strike my heart is when he said that God can give you peace that passes all understanding even when you are in that deep pain and lowest season of your life. I was already losing hope for our country but here you are giving hope to our countryman that there's still good government official who really want to serve our country. I can feel his pain. I was in that same place when Mayor Joni died. The family are in loud prayers even Mayora's kids are shouting to the Lord to save their mom. Truly God has a plan, i ended up watching this video with teary eyes.
