Those early g12h25s are apparently Brian Robertson's choice back in his days with Thin Lizzy (and one of my holy grail tones, check out the live 75 show on youtube). They both sound awesome, definitely more presence with the h25 vs the h30, but I expected that when comparing lead to bass versions. At any rate,, two killer speakers and thanks for the comparison Johan! Merry Xmas.

both sound great Johan but I would have liked to see a later G12H30-75hz thrown in for comparison since we are comparing a lead and bass cone speaker only here. I understood the point of the video to be comparing the 25w & 30w voice coils and we've got another variable here with the lead and bass cones. Cheers and thank you for another cool chance to hear some rare speakers!

Awesome comparison like only you could do right. What a great setup to try those speakers. I'm going to have to side with the T1281. It hits all the right frequencies to my ears. The 25W sounds close but it's more nasal. The 30W has more guts. Thanks!!

Listening loudly on my Kali LP6's here, it sounds like the 25 had a certain harshness in the upper midi, whereas the 30 had a more balanced mid and upper mid range with no harshness at all, so the 30 wins hands down from here. Thanks for your incredible passion and thoroughness all around, man!

Both are great but the 25 has better treble response to my hears and that is what I use on my JTM 45 rig. You can always turn up the bass on a Marshall amp but the treble is full on anyway so you can't add more. The 25s have a more Duane type feel to me.Great video as always. Thanks Johan! Cheers!

I was really diggin' that 55-Hz H-30. Badass and thumpy and not boomy (based on what I'm hearing in the video on my computer through these headphones). The H-25 sounded really good, too. I bet two of each in X-formation in a 4X12 would sound pretty darn great.

Which one would be better for homerecording with a marshall 1987x and an attenuator? Is the 25w speaker better suited for lower volumes or is it mainly about frequency response? Bc soundwise I preferred the 30s. They were less fuzzy in the top

Great sound from both speakers, with that great signal chain (including guitarist), but the "25" had something very special. Closed my eyes and repeated the video, and I must say I really love the "25" sound. Was the "25" in a closed back cab? Looks like the "30" was in a combo, open back I presume.
@JohanSegeborn Жыл бұрын
