I appreciate your effort, but you have different mics on each speaker. Even if you could have done 2x2 (like 2x SM57s and 2x MD421's; one SM57/MD421 each on the two M's and one SM57/MD421 each on the two H's) that would have been better. That way we know it's not just the mic. Again, you're doing this out of your time so thank you but it really does make it hard to determine anything.

The G12M combines great with many speakers, it's pure gold! I like combining a G12M Heritage Series with a modern G12T-75 to add thump and a bit of harshness to the top end, while the G12M fills up the midrange. One of the reasons of choosing this they have almost identical sensitivity, so no speaker overpowers the other.

Definitely better when the 2 speakers are combined. I use a Modeler, and checking the Cab Specs against the Real Cab Speaker Specs has helped me dial in a much more accurate sound to what I want. This is so timely for me. I've had a 2x12 loaded with a modern G12M Heritage and a G12H30 55hz heritage for about a year and really like it. I came up with another pair of G12H30 55 hz and a pair of G12H30 75hz, put them all in a 4x12 and like it less. Now I need to try the G12M with each of the 75hz and the 55Hz in the 4x12. I guess I can find out if the 75hz cones offer something better than the 55hz cones.

The more modern metal riff (2:54, 5:39) sounded better on the G12H but the G12M sound better on more classic rock riffs (5:10, 6:24). Perhaps it's just my ears are accustomed to certain tones for certain styles. or is it that modern riff are more low end focused?

Hey Johan. Thanks for the demonstration. It's kind of possible for me to compare your sound in this video to mine. I have a cab equipped with G12M75, T1221 '73 greenbacks and G12H75, T1217 greybacks with R/I cone, January 74 and a Marshall Haze amp. Somehow it also gives a different, more rich feedback from the unpotted pickups in my R8; I bet you have tried it, though it's not a part of the recording. I clearly hear a difference in my cab with 4 x G12M to the other. I know, we both know the R/C cone is different from Pulsonic cones and that adds to the equation too. It's would even become a more rich experience if you visit your friend Pleximaster and connect the cab to a JTM45 with a GZ34; maybe a theme for future reference. Ha' det bra, Johan
