Just leave religion out. Christianity as well. They all involve the same things named differently. Go with God. We were not put here to be the same Christians chant spells and call it prayer. I know this as one then call everyone outside of them witches and warlocks. The prophet is your seer and who were the greeks but if not clear people that traveled up and down the nole trading and stealing parts of other cultures as did we? I love your videos. I'm a proud Nigerian(Yoruba) and despite my religion being Christian, I still have relatives in the rural village of my tribe who stick to our oriṣà ancestral worship or the new generation returnees to the religion. We have 3 main recognised religions in Nigerian. Some people openly practice one of the 2 main religions of Christian & Islam but secretly ingrain themselves with our ancestral Òrișà religion. Even our dance of 'Bàtá' is associated with our ancestral religion. Orisa religion is entwined with our culture & tradition, has many deities with links to the Higher God ( Edumare) but yes, you do have the deities of Anger & Wrath. Ogun is the deity of Anger & wrath in the ancestra religion. Now the religion went across the ocean with slavery. With this, they have mixed it up and disguised it from the slave masters. All religions have a darkside. You can find curses in the Bible from OT to NT. Islam too has its darkside. So when pple demonise our Ancestral religion being voodooic, I disagree. It's not demonic but, is more earthy and lies on 'karma or peace'. It's a tolerant religion hence why Islam & Christianity were able to invade with brainwashing or bloodshed to convert. These other religions demoniced our ancestral religion and called it 'Paganism' or 'infidels'. I reiterate that the Orisa ancestral religion is not based on magic, evil or darkness. Beyonce is basically using the religion for marketing purposes. The Orisa people live it, it's there way of life.

I appreciate your firsthand perspective on the traditional African religion. I think Christians and Christianity need to be confronted with the reality of other religions and beliefs, that it is usually people also working with God and spiritual values, only from different cultural imagery and languages. Unfortunately, many Western American Christians, specifically the narrow-minded Christian, will look at all other spiritual beliefs as deception. I've seen this attitude time and time again. There’s no place for a plurality of belief in that way of seeing, in that kind of biblical interpretation. An open-minded person of faith will understand the world with an appreciation of religions and faiths, as well as people's personal perspectives. An open-minded Christian may understand that God inhabits all of us and that God's power can and at times, Will, work through people's beliefs within their personal lives. God doesn’t judge in the way humans do, because it’s inside and around everything, God understands everything, and is part of all that’s going on. Thanks again for explaining and sharing something of the Nigerian tradition.

It is a deception, there's only one God. The Christian God is the only one God. The others are demons that the Almighty created. All nations were given to demonic powers besides Israel. God used Israel to bring other nations to him.

Voodoo is not inherently evil. It is about keeping the way of the spiritual realm of which we all come from in alignment with the earthly so that we develop good character. In order to do that one has to be confident in their spiritual practice for growth, development and protection. Everything isn’t based on Hollywood propaganda and White Supremacy psychological and spiritual warfare, executing the narrative via propaganda. One can choose to cheat spiritually or grow patiently spiritually. Those are the two types of people who visit those stores. Esu, the Orisha of karmic justice approves free will equally as he holds us accountable to our free will. You do evil, you real evil. You do good, you reap good, all in the long term and beyond multiple generations. This is why African people all over will receive Reparations. Universal law means nothing is given without something to be received, nature proves that clearly.

I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND Karine where you are coming from as respect to Christianity mixing with a variety of deities. It's in just about everything and the masses are unaware. That's why I pray the blood of Jesus and ask for wisdom, guidance and protection in all things🙏🏾. I learned about Celia and Santeria through the Netflix miniseries and the movie Black Orpheus (1959) with the stunningly beautiful Marpessa Dawn. I've heard rumors over the years that Bey was into some things, I'm not a fan of her nor her music. I don't keep up with her. I'm not surprised. My conscience won't allow me to listen to Bey music and many others. Some movies and books I can't get into. To each his own. We all will answer the Almighty in due time❤

Thanks for your concise summary of Celias career! I am a black American🇺🇸 from the south, i became familiar with Celia Cruz as a college student in the early 2000s as a Spanish major. Love her music, read her autobiog, and adored her use of AZUCAR! to punctuate. When it comes to other religions, we as black Americans have similar pockets of peoples who worship other deities, and growing up baptist/christian, there were whispers to stay away from those who practiced "vodun" or "worked roots" (using the elements of nature for good or ill)as it was called. Its interesting bc although my mom didnt grow up in church, she kept her children in church when we were young, but she still had "pagan" practices, using nature for healing and warding off negative spirits etc stemming from Africa/Native Americans and the deep south... probably even some old irish paganism mixed in as we are descendants of the TransAtlantic slave trade.🤷🏽‍♀️ Unless we read about these african gods, we wouldnt know much about them, theur sacrifice reqs, and how to worship them etc. With Beyonce, this seems like something she grew into, as she grew up southern Christian, going to church etc.(still again, her moms from LA, and dads from AL, so there is much intermingling of those African religions/creole spirituality (mixing religious traditions from multiple cultures) forms of worship in secret. She is with JayZ, a Sagittarius ♐️ who studies religions and other spiritual practices, so im sure they influence each other.

There's a reason why African religions went underground, we all know about the history of suppression. BTW, my village in South America was a hotbed of Mama Wata worship. African descendants were forced to hide their true beliefs, and even though the Abrahamic faiths are far more murderous, it is Vodu, Shango, Palo, and Santeria that are seen as "evil" of negative.

To be fair, if you practise, Santaria, condomblé , Ifá or voodun, you must give praise and honor to the orishas or loas for giving you the gift of talent, beauty, money, health and strength. It is the same when people praise God, Allah, Yahweh and thank him/her for all their blessings including health, talent, strength, beauty and money. If people were able to practise their faith openly in this country without judgment there would be no hiding. Although, they say the US is free, these religions are still looked at suspiciously.

In regards to Beyonce, I haven't heard of her refer to herself as a reincarnation or rebirth of Oshun. If anything, she has been known to refer to herself as a daughter of Oshun. It was also mentioned that Ezili Dantor has similarities to Oshun, but in Haitian Vodun, it is actually Ezili Freda who has similar characteristics to Oshun, not Dantor. Also there is a misconception that people in ATR (African Tradition Religions) worship deities, however in practices such as Vodou they still believe and worship God. He is referred to as Bondye. Vodou is a monotheistic religion. In different practices, Lwas, Saints, and Angels are messengers of God and they also work on his behalf. In IFA, practitioners also believe in a supreme being.

As a Christian I appreciate videos like this educating about other religions/spiritual practices. Although I have my own beliefs I feel that other beliefs should still be respected. Even in Christianity if your intent isn’t pure you can still send evil onto others. Also, thank you for bringing to light Benyonce’s religious practices because it’s very belittling when people try to say she isn’t pulling from other energy forces for her success when she clearly is in front of our faces.

Celia was a beautiful and perfect representation of Afro Caribbean women. ❤️ Puerto Rico and DR loved this Queen and pass her songs down to all of their kids haha; I grew up listening to her almost everyday in my household; being Boricua, she’s a BIG BIG part of my childhood. ❤️🫶🏻❤️

My take on this is this. We are all human, and no matter what we worship and believe in. We are all mortal and we will pass from this plane. So that is something that a person will have to. deal with in the afterworld. Material things are great, blessings are great, but they are something that cannot go past this plane of existence.

You did mention Cardi but, the only thing is it doesn’t seem like she sings about it and maybe hide it in every song like you said this lady did. I agree w/you I don’t think ppl should(sneak) spells into music.

What do u think the music industry is!!!???? Did u see the Grammy Awards the year Sam Smith portrayed the devil 😈? What do u think that was????? When u listen to ur favorite song or songs over and over, what do u think that is!!??! When u hear a beat that pulls u out ur seat!!!??? What do u think that is!!!!???? When the lyrics capture u , what do u think that is!!!????? Lastly when Sam Smith appeared as the devil 👿 (that's if u watched it , I didn't because I knew what it was) THAT WAS A RITUAL ON A GRAND SCALE!!! You don't have control when it comes to these things but u can recognize them! Believe me! I know what I am talking about! 😊😊😊

I never knew this! I need to do more research on that. I'm like Karine on this. It really does irritate me when people say that Christianity is a white man religion as well. I know that my ancestors knew God before all these other religions came up.

The bible already said that. The Europeans didn't get Christianity until the new Testament. Apostle Paul spread the gospel to the other nations. People have to read the bible. Not just allow the pastors to interpret it.

Please do a video on Josephine Premice. I enjoyed your Celia Cruz video. I'm not sure if you know,Celia Cruz was born to a Haitian mother, and azucar was a battle cry for the Afro-Cubans( Africans) that worked the sugar and fields. She was very pro-black, but she loved all people. She learned a lot about music from music by a Haitian woman named Martha Jean-Claude. Please do a video on her as well. Thank you!

Unfortunately “oldest” does not equal “first”. The Ethiopian Bible is the oldest currently existing Bible but that was still translated from Roman/greek. The New Testament was originally written in Roman/greek aka European. Also look up the Council of Nicea in 325ad. Where the state co-opted the bergeoning religion of Christianity and manipulated it into a means of control through fear. So yes, Christianity as it exists now and for the last 1700 years is a “white man’s religion” that has been edited and revised many times to refine the elements of social control.
