This video was extremely helpful to me. One of my headlights went out (again), so I was looking into getting LEDs. You showed me that they would work on my car, and I used your little hack with cutting a cap as a spacer, worked like a charm! Also I didn't quite realize how the whole mechanism worked before seeing your video, you showing that locking lever really helped too!
@TSRGarage2 жыл бұрын
Good to hear that it helped. That little locking arm is a pain to figure out the first time, it's hard to see how it works in the car.

Do U suggest getting xenon hid bulbs or LED Lights for the low beam?
@TSRGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hid probably gonna be the brightest.
@dadadadada4974 Жыл бұрын
Quick question, have you upgraded the High Beam to LED? If so, what did you do about the Daytime Running Light (DRL) function since it drops voltage and would cause a flicker effect.
@TSRGarage Жыл бұрын
I did not upgrade high beam.
@dadadadada4974 Жыл бұрын
@@TSRGarage Thanks. Because DRL uses the high beam it makes it troublesome to convert to LED without doing a relay or something.

Would you say that it's worth it to buy the LED bulbs? Or just buy a better halogen direct replacement bulb?
@TSRGarage6 жыл бұрын
The halogen lights would be easier to install. I had to make a spacer to install these led lights, other brands my be different. I dont know if the leds would be any brighter then high quality halogen. They are brighter then what was in my car. Just somthing I wanted to try. So I would say it really is down too personal choice.

Hello, I pretty much did what you did here to fit new H7 led lights, however both bulbs project a small-round light blob just on top of the ''standard'' lit up area. Any idea what could be the causing it?? Thanks
@TSRGarage5 жыл бұрын
I dont know what would cause that. Could be bulb alignment/ too deep or to shallow.

You have to open the light cap and inside you see a little hole. Glue some aluminum tape and you are done

Awesome! Thanxz so much!! I just ordered the VoRock8 because they were the only ones that did NOT require tweaking to fit my 2001 Celica BUT apparently they lied. I suspect I'll be printing out an ABS spacer. I really appreciate the closeup on the spring clip, I always end up spending 10 minutes trying to get that thing closed because I was never quite sure how that latch worked. Did you remove the housing without taking off the bumper? If so that would be a great video, I've seen it done by A1auto but my celica seems to have a connection that they don't mention. Thanxz again for the great video !!!
@TSRGarage6 жыл бұрын
The housing was from a car that I stripped everything off of for parts. I have not designed or printed a spacer yet (still using the one in the video) If you do print out a spacer. (If you would like to share your design) share it on thingiverse. Post it in the comments and I will add your 3d design to the video description.

Turn them over then the brake lamps won't work. Had the same problems Its how the bulb is made. You have to buy the red ones the clear are wired backwards. Leds only let power run one direction cars use dc current the light system on that car is differnt then most cars. Leds were not being used on cars when they built it so polarity wasn't an issue. But with led bulbs it is important they are wired correctly or they do not work. I had this issue on my 2012 scion tc. But ill bet its the same on the celica. Im going to bet I could fix it with relays. In fact I know I can. But its not worth the effort to find out they are not bright enough. You can buy lenses with built in bulbs.
@bobbg90413 жыл бұрын
Its better. But worthless for showing the road. That car had incredible head lamps when it was new with clear lenses almost as good as my 1988 supra is But once they fog up they suck. I drove it in the carpeted forest in the nw Washington state i was shining light all the way to the tops of the redwood trees thats about 400 feet. It was daylight outside but you drive back into the woods its pitch black, the headlamps lite up the forest. We got so deep in I found out we had no cell service. My wife got spooked becuse of bears. So we drove back out by that time it got dark out. I dont recommend you drive a sports car up that road to the camp seight its pretty rough road use a 4x4 jeep youll have more fun.

That your car? How many miles what year what motor? 5 or 6 speed? Yes changing bulbs is a pain in the ass on them. I think I would have sanded and polished the lenses wile it was off the car then hit them with a uv protective clear coat. Its harder to do on the car. I like the old glass bulbs better then this plastic shit. Thats about the only issue I have with my 2001 that has 295k miles on it yes it burns some oil it always has thats the nature of vvt it also needs a new cat. We did an o2 test on it. The cats been bad for 8 years. I dont drive it much anymore. I may switch to 0w20 toyota oil on this car my 2012 scions oil almost always comes out clean after 10k miles.
