18:18 And this is why I ignored that V12 Celica from 5 days ago and RAPIDLY clicked on this. It's all well and good having something slammed with massive arches and some OTT engine swap, but Stephen Papadakis did the arguably more difficult thing and _respected the spirit of the car._ The moment I laid eyes on those Mikunis I knew this dude had built a winner. This isn't that wild a car, but it's a proper Celica. I guess I'd expect nothing less from this guy.

@@wahyueko2011 Yes, her. See - there are many people in the world who truly believe in freedom (not you) and that includes letting people be who they are. Unfortunately people like you who aren't smart enough to see past your spoon-fed political propaganda and enjoy making an issue out of something that literally has zero effect on anyone and can't let someone just be happy being themselves. Especially when the person (Sarah) is a veteran and does awesome, honest work and is one of the few content creators that is a good representative of the automotive community. Most of the people who watch her content know about her - and we don't care in the least bit. I always feel really sorry for people like you and your mental illness of being obsessed with other healthy people's gender and identities. News flash - it doesn't matter. Be a better human - it is surprisingly easy.

No intercoolers or EFI back then . I bought the car from my late brother in-law who bought the car from new and built the engine . great to see the Ta celica’s getting much deserved luv . Cheers 🇦🇺👍

Try a pair of Webber 45 DCOE and it will wake up the car. Also, your cams should be at least 304/288 mix with 10.8 MM lift. These 18RG and 2TG love high CR pistons. 11.75:1 CR is just what the doctor ordered. I wouldn't do without my AC either, so it means you need at least a 3-row radiator to keep thing in check. Great project. Great coverage Larry.

Such a cool car. Reminds me of those old Datsun 5's. That Z next to it was gorgeous too. If only automakers would take a chance a make a car like this again. Just no frills whatsoever, lightweight, good power to weight. Basically a superior GR86, with this styling, and keep the costs down for younger people to embrace earlier on to keep car passion hobby alive and well.

very nice build. I started my restoration on my 1973 celica 9ish years ago. I thinking this spring I'll have it on the road late spring. I noticed that there are a lot of these first gen celiacs at SEMA this year. When I started my build there seemed to be no one else building them on KZbin. Now there seems to be a huge popularity for them.

In 1976, Motor Trend's Import Car of the Year was the Toyota Celica hatchback. Selling Toyota's in Bloomington, the boss son's '72 Celica was mine to drive for a time. Having experienced both cars, the '72 was a real road-hugger, though a four-speed compared to a larger eng. w a five-speed, the older Celica with front/ rear spoilers won performance-wise. Great Restoration!
